That is interesting.
It shows that "the interests of the State" ≠ "the interests of the People".
At least at a deep level.
Isn't that the core problem? All else is epiphenomena.
Have you swallowed a Dictionary? I had to look that word up!

Most times, I have to look up more than one word in your posts.
For now, today's word is
epiphenomena /ĕp″ə-fĭ-nŏm′ə-nŏn″/
Plural form of epiphenomenon
noun
- A secondary phenomenon that results from and accompanies another.
- An additional condition or symptom in the course of a disease, not necessarily connected with the disease.
- In pathology, a symptom or complication arising during the course of a malady.
His mind was not for rent to any god or government
Always hopeful yet discontent, knows changes aren't permanent
But change is

Isn't that a 'true and false' statement? I mean, "the interests of the State", or even on a deeper level, "the interests of [any System]" will be to sustain its 'existence' (and 'purpose'), and therefore will be 'self'-centered as far as 'interests' go. However, wouldn't the State, by sustaining its 'existence', of which is dependent on the population it 'rules' over, also have, to some extent, the interests of said population as a collateral effect of its efforts at maintaing its own 'life'/'meaning'?

Are you trying to discombobulate the thread with three off topic posts lol?
Any thoughts on that Oxford University speech or the CIA infiltration of journalism?
He was a Rhodes scholar but thought Richard Dolan did do an extremely good job in this vid on 'modern day Mockingbird'.
Quote:Even after all these years, Operation Mockingbird, the CIA program to infiltrate and control U.S. journalism, is still not well known. Officially, Mockingbird ended in the 1970s after it was exposed. In reality, control over our establishment media is deeper and more insidious than ever before.

All the usual topics brought up like utterly corrupt 'consensus' manufacture, narrative control and corporate shill 'gatekeeping' - also the infiltration of regulatory institutions and the contamination of politically radical ideologies.
Refreshing to see he covers the role of intelligence services 'hijacking' the news media in projects like Mockingbird and internet shills in the form of the military cyber-warfare unit 'the 77th brigade' are also discussed.
Obviously all this is from a British standpoint but reckon it's just as bad over the pond - there's been consistent polling trends showing that only about 30% of folks are still swallowing all this stage managed bullshit so guess people are waking up.

They created the internet and then social media (Life book/ face book -> tik tok / instagram) to keep real time tabs on you and control your thinking and attention span.
But the thing that they perhaps didn't foresee is their creation turning on them to bite them.
I can whatsapp with my mate in Ireland, or a friend in Japan in real time and see what's really going on. When it destroys their puerile narrative en masse, with enough people, they have to resort to heavy-handed means like censorship.
They try to get the sheeple on board curtailing their own freedoms but the age-old appeals to both emotional nurturing FOR THE KIDS or to fear FOR SAFETY! But what we need to do is start building our own mobile networks, not relying on carriers like the national and transnational telecom companies.
It just takes one government or military to order or destroy the network turned off. Not to mention the smaller censorship like France and Britain 'forbidding' certain sites or applications for their citizens.
So it is no wonder the average Joe has stopped viewing legacy media. It's not about technology or platform. IT's about 'STOP LYING and treating us like you're our PARENTS/TEACHERS cuz you most definitely are not. '
