In USA demographics are interesting on that.

"In general, how much trust and confidence do you have in the mass media — such as newspapers, TV and radio — when it comes to reporting the news fully, accurately and fairly — a great deal, a fair amount, not very much or none at all?"

None at all
Republicans: 62%
Independents: 32%
Democrats: 9%

Overall, it's now down to a total of 28% for "A fair amount" or "A great deal" (from 31% in the 2024 data you linked).

This is who controls the airwaves and media.  Good luck trying to find unbiased anything in media.

About 20 years ago -- Clearchannel - (now IHeartMedia) systematically started buying up the airwaves.  They bought main towers then began revoking licenses to smaller stations -- especially PBS type programs.

Then we have Larry Ellison (Oracle) and son David -- currently CEO of Paramount Skydance.  Ellison is the son of Larry Ellison, the Oracle co-founder worth $290 billion as of Friday, making him the second-richest person in the world, according to Forbes estimates.

. . . though the deal was not greenlit by the FCC until Thursday after a year of political tumult, including a pressure campaign by President Donald Trump that appears to have influenced CBS to settle a lawsuit with with the president for millions, and possibly impacted the decision to cancel Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show.”

No worries mate I was just being pedantic and bombastic lol.

It's amazing what folks forget (or what they're simply not told) but there are.some rare news clippings in this PDF regarding a 'Worldwide Propaganda Network Built by the C.I.A.' - also some interesting factoids here compiled by Professor James Tracy.

Tik Tok begins censorship after US Aquisition

I don't use the format itself, except maybe to watch funny animal videos, but there it is for all to see and speculate on.

"Gradually I began to intellectually reject some of the delusionally influenced lines of thinking which had been characteristic of my orientation. This began, most recognizably, with the rejection of politically-oriented thinking as essentially a hopeless waste of intellectual effort." ~ John Forbes Nash

Not really, the man has such a thin skin I'm surprised it holds his organs in.

I always look at this chart to know what side of the news I am getting.

Journalists used to be neutral but I guess it who you work for and your own beliefs as to how the story gets manipulated.

You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

The trap is that left, right, or centrist, you're still defining your political context and applicable worldview by your alignment with referents and definitions that are provided by the media. That's where the control happens. Narrative crafting is about defining the corral in which dissent can occur, not specific opinion that 'should' be held. It's call "framing". See also: Overton Window, which I imagine everyone here is familiar with.
