Jimmy Kimmel pulled from the air over false comment about Kirk murder

Kimmel wasn't joking.  He was making a serious statement.
And he was going to double down on his statement the next night.
Also ... so it's okay to lie as long as you claim it's joking?
What idiot is going to listen to someone lie to them and think it's okay
because the idiot happens to be a self proclaimed 'comedian'.
Welcome to the new type of echo chamber where top Republican politicians step up to do what is right.

I don’t think lying by any standards is OK.

But no one agrees on what the truth is anymore. So the options are have an extremely hyperbolic media landscape, or have the government say what’s allowed. I’d rather have a lot of bad ideas that I have to discern than only a few.

How many people in power have said the left killed Charlie Kirk? That’s either wrong or a lie. You could say the ideology and extremism online created an environment that may have made the psycho more psycho, but he is an individual.

I don’t see the point either way, as I said in the post you pulled that from. I think all of the people dead set on assigning blame to an ideology are wrong. Both sides have extremists, not everyone on each side is an extremist.

Looks like some kind of agreement has been reached.
After being suspended for one week, The Kimmel Live Show will be back on Tuesday (tomorrow).
We will see how it goes.
Kimmel will probably spew more partisan lies, and the lemmings will soak it up.
Then in 7 months his contract is up and he's cancelled anyways.

I think we’d both agree that celebrating his death is extreme/extremist.

That celebrating was common and widespread amongst the left, including left politicians, doctors, lawyers, professors, mayors etc.

Left and right are not the same in that regard.

You mean Kimmel will continue his artistic freedom and free speech as he pleases?

Nope.  I never said any such thing.

Nothing has been said as to the agreement.

You really do live in fantasy land.   Making up a lot of stuff as you go along ..

In other words… If the affiliates refuse your show or you get us sued.  Your done.

I used the term too.  But I’m guessing Kimmel was never really fired.

I was correcting your meaning for accuracy.

What was unsaid, says a lot and I am sure Kimmel will continue to do whatever he wants to do.

He was suspended.
That can be for an hour, or forever, or anything in between.
