Isreal launches strikes on Iran

Let's not overlook the somewhat precarious position in which we find ourselves.

Yes, the US has immense military might, which it can flex to any part of the world. But, at the same time, it is dealing with domestic turmoil on a level that has risen to the point that portions of that same military might have been ordered to patrol its own streets; which, paradoxically has only served to increase the level of discontent.

In this context, for Iran to "level the playing field", all that is necessary is to further stoke the discord within the US by dragging its military into an extended, asymmetric war of attrition.

If Iran chooses to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, it could do so, effectively, and with little relative effort. Clearing, and maintaining free and safe passage through the strait, presents a much more long-term, and far riskier, commitment. 

A commitment, of troops and materiel, that US forces might find difficult to support back home..


Why do I get the feeling that the "Summer Repeat" season is, inexorably, once again upon us?

About half hour ago. The Iranian guy was talking the usual sh*t and couldn't stop shaking the paper he was reading from. I'd get the shakes too if I'd got two nuclear armed powers bombing my nation with militaries generations more advanced. Baghdad Bob comes to mind.

I watched about 15 minutes of it, and went to sleep but ive been up watching all day and might need a break

I've had to stop too. Her in doors has had enough wants the repair shop on lol. Hope ypu have a nice rest. It is pretty addictive watching this period of time. The Iranian looked broken. Sitting next to Danny Damon probably doesn't help.

If this keeps up it's looking like the whole Iranian experiment will collapse. No need for invasion just let the Iranian state collapse on itself with enough encouragement from lots more pounding....................
