How do you feel about religion?

Spirituality is too broad a term for me to address Sirius. I don't know if it resonates with me. I fondly describe myself as an old Jungian. I am a mystery unto myself.

Archetypes are guardians.  Drawing the lines between these things and exploring the self is where the fun is. When people go down this path synchronicities start.

A mirror. Imagine in front of everyone in the world a mirror suddenly appeared and you could see all the reflections, this is magic, spirituality and where madness starts because it shatters the mind when you do it with empathy.

What do I think about religion?
That's a question too generalized.
Ask me what I think about each particular religion.
Each one is different.

Some are good and do good things for/to the people.
Some are bad and do bad things for/to people.
Some are accurate.  Some are lies and just control mechanisms.
Some are ridiculous.  Some are dangerous.  Some are profound.
All rely on faith ... believing what others have said is true and not knowing for sure that it is.

I do not think that any one religion is 100% accurate.
However, the one I believe in seems to be the most accurate to me.
It's helpful for me and it's God worship centered.  So I like it.
Some things I do not agree with it on, but I try to listen to it for guidance.
I could be completely wrong.  But if I am .. it's an honest mistake.
I'm trying to 'do it right'.

I don't recall asking you anything about archetypes Sirius. I really don't understand why you would feel the need to 'educate' an old Jungian about what that word means.

So why post that? It's all very strange!

I think you have a lot of stuff in your head but very little self awareness.

Not really, at least in my case.

As an atheist I do not "band together" with anyone to practice any thing. I don't even know what an atheist could practice. Smile

Why do you view what I say as 'education' and then somehow with a negative connotation?  I view it as two people explaining their world views to make a connection.

You mentioned archetypes, so I carried on the conversation, should I not have done that? We can talk about the weather, but it's not really on the topic of the thread.

I didn't mention archetypes. You asked me if spirituality resonated with me. I said I fondly describe myself as an old Jungian, thinking that might give an idea of my view.
I'm not fussed about archetypes or Jung. I'm older and wiser now but perhaps stand on his shoulders a little, like we all do with people that have made an impression on us.

I wish you well

Hedonism?
No God to punish you.
No guilt trips.

Sweet, no stress. I see where the disconnect is.  Thumbup I read Jungian and my brain immediately starts conjuring demons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungian_archetypes

What do you think about the Red Book? I've got that big ole folio and the illustrations sure are... interesting. The phenomena of Jung makes a lot more sense having read it. He sat on the 'O' in o-cult and called it an egg.
