Yesterday the Russian Volunteer Corps of the Ukrainian Army lost it's commanding officer, Denis 'WhiteRex' Kapustin to an FPV drone strike

Huge loss for the Ukrainian side.

 Denis Yevgenyevich Kapustin (Russian: Денис Евгеньевич Капустин; 6 March 1984 – 27 December 2025), also known as Denis Nikitin (Денис Никитин) or by his nom-de-guerre White Rex, was a Russian neo-Nazi activist and militant. Kapustin had been banned from the Schengen Area since 2019. After moving to Ukraine, he founded the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) in 2022 and was the group's leader.
On 27 December 2025, Kapustin was killed in action in Zaporizhzhia Oblast by an FPV drone.

Kapustin organised and facilitated meet-ups of radical right groups across Europe and the United States through mixed martial arts events, which the German Federal Agency for Civic Education credited as allowing for the expansion and increased corroboration and militancy within the radical right. In 2018 Kapustin was networking throughout Europe: not only did he help set up the martial arts events, he also offered martial arts seminars and weapon training from Wales to Switzerland, and maintained good contacts in the fan scenes of Sparta Prague and Legia Warsaw. He also appeared as a fighter and speaker at the "Kampf der Nibelungen" (Battle of the Nibelungs) event.[sup][4][/sup]
 
His reach was limited in 2019 when Germany issued him a entry ban into the Schengen Area for "efforts against the liberal democratic constitution"[sup][8][/sup] and organising neo-Nazi martial arts events.[sup][9][/sup]
 
In Switzerland, he provided combat-training to members of the far-right Swiss Nationalist Party (PNOS).[sup][5][/sup] According to Reuters he "has frequently described himself as a nationalist fighting for a Russia that belongs to ethnic Russians", but has "rejected the neo-Nazi and white supremacist characterisations."[sup][6][/sup] Kapustin also gave training to members of National Action, a British neo-Nazi group banned by the U.K. government.[sup][10]..

In Russia

In March 2023, Denis Kapustin was added to Rosfinmonitoring's list of terrorists and extremists.[sup][17][/sup]
On 16 November 2023, Russia's 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced Kapustin in absentia to life imprisonment and also convicted him of treason and terrorist activities.[sup][18][/sup]

Death

Kapustin was killed in a drone strike in Zaporizhzhia Oblast on 27 December 2025, aged 41.[sup][19][/sup] The RVC confirmed his death on Telegram and vowed to avenge it.[sup][20][/sup][sup][21][/sup][sup][2[/sup]

Apparently I misspoke, the RVC is not a proper division of the Ukrainian Army, but is 'managed' under the Ukrainian Intelligence Director.
It receives it's funding from donations and is an all volunteer unit with apparently no government support. I think this explains the proliferation of neo-Nazi movements within the division and also their past affiliation with Azov Battalion before Azov were taken under the wing of the Ukrainian government.

That's not going to look good for Putin and the Kremlin (or to some posters on here!! )
