HOLY SMOKES! The Texas House just REVOKED the derelict Democrat lawmakers' access to

Usually, it's butchered words made other words by autocorrect or incorrect homophones.

This is gonna wash-out by 2026 and Republican Texan redistricting will be balanced by Democrat Californian redistricting.

It really does seem like showbiz by the Texas State legislature people.  It's like an absconding filibuster. Just a last ditch attempt to flip a middle finger at majority legislation. I understand their combative need to defy the majority, but they are self-immolating the perception of the left more than anything.  Just giving more of a reason to stretch the chasm a little further across.

@ Texas @ Democrats everywhere.

Just suck it up and LEARN TO PLAY THE GAME or fully commit to always losing

Like the "run and tell teacher" tendency of the left is annoying and self-defeating. Play the game they do, its the only thing that would work.

And California still has a few days left to get a special election on the November ballot.  Support is there. And they even might "redistrict" more effectively than Texas. And Arizona (and others) could follow, because Arizona always follows either Texas or California.

It could end a net gain of 8 seats for the democrats if others follow California and Texas and we all just commit all do eye for an eye politics exclusively.

Ha, I was just trying to inject some levity and humor

The mid-80s me would be perpetually shaking thier head at the 2025 me talking politics
And I was a semi-nerdy dude

But I added to my post...in 2026 if the economy is rocking, don't come knocking.

It's the James Carville refrain, "It's the economy, stupid"

IF big if but if Trump has stumbled into a growing economy in 2026, nothing else will resonate with the voting public.

Respectfully, gerrymandering has been going on forever.

And you are too intelligent to pretend the Democrats weren't flooding immigrants into states, counties, and districts, so the census calls for redrawing the districts. Big difference in a state transitioning from purple to blue organically and not because the American taxpayer is jetting in immigrants in the middle of the night.

How often does one party revoke financial privileges when the other party pitches a hissy fit over gerrymandering?

Thats what caught my eye scrolling through the X feed...

Yeah.... but... but...

In 2005 and the beginning of 2006 was the peak of the boom before The Great Recession. In thise two GDP expanding years, the Fed raised interest rates 11 or 12 consecutive times.

So isn't gloating about interest rate cuts is like an NFL owner saying, "I'm so awesome in my leadership my brilliance just assured us 2 top 15 picks in next year's draft! Including a top 5, and we didn't even have to trade for it!"

I could be wrong. Not an economist.

Nor am I economically literate, Im just optimistic about the economy, with some life experiences

Is it still okay to have optimism?

Has optimism been banned on DI?

FWIW, even then, my optimism MOSTLY extends just for my little dysfunctional niche business tucked inside a sometimes volatile, dysfunctional niche industry. YMMV

I know the ALWAYS look on the bright side vibe is sourly scorned upon by the same 47%  that still believes Harris/Walz ARE economically literate and would have balanced Uncle Sam's checkbook where no social programs get cut AND no real new business investment in America is brought in either. Search your heart, Luke, you know it to be true.

How could you be wrong, and why be concerned? I thought the 2026 Blue Wave was imminent, just as economic collapse was imminent in April from tariffs, and how much of the Project 2025 concerns and fears have materialized so far in 2025?

It's a fake it till you make it world... thats right in Trump's wheelhouse.

Again, a lot of that belief is from watching Trump since the 80s and his days in the USFL. Where a younger Trump bedazzled and some say bamboozled the other older, more established owners.

Read this book...if you dare

[Image: il_1080xN.5589777002_rwot-2816861144.jpg]

Most of these owners were successful businessmen in thier own right, loathed Trump at first for many of the same reasons the left loathes OMB today, but eventually Trump sold them on an idea and they all followed his lead to the collapse of the USFL. Will we have the same result worldwide in his 2nd term? After all, we now have corporations and countries following the now older, hopefully wiser Donald

Segway

As for the NFL analogy, the fans won't give a damn as long as they start winning games, especially playoff runs and Super Bowls

For Trump voters, much of the 52% feel like, economically, Uncle Sam is winning. Trump is slinging deals and gunning for the Super Bowl

.....for now, time will tell if it's real or imagined.

Support Texas Democrats Defending Democracy

I will not post link here because of T&C Smile

Somehow I don't think they're going to run out of money to buy chicken nuggets and merlot or whatever Texas Democrats eat.

Which may wind them up in even deeper trouble.
Quote:"Defendants have and will continue to engage in unlawful fundraising practices and utilization of political funds in a manner that either directly violates or causes Texas Democratic Legislators to violate [the law]," Fahey wrote in her Friday evening ruling. "Consumer have and continue to suffer irreparable harm through these unlawful acts because they are making political contributions that are being used to fund personal expenses and violate state law."

There is a sucker born every minute.
Useful idiots handing their money over to politicians and their political stunts.
Indoctrination of the lemmings makes for politicians with growing bank accounts.
(and yeah, the MAGA people do it with buying golden Trump sneakers and gold Trump phones, etc  too)

Come on man have you seen the amount of soy milk in those American Eagle skinny jeans? They ain't trippin' over shit except their hurt feelz.

The Woke Fad is over, in short. The fatigue is setting in and real people are tired of the childish lying bullshit. The wallets have been voicing their opinions all along...

Democrats and their twisted ideologies only ever looked good on paper with the support of dead voters and chatbots and low-info persons who would rather join a bandwagon than think for themselves.

But I digress, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell me how wrong I am and what level Nazi I am in my boot-cut Wranglers.

Go Texas! You don't mess with Texas whoooo!

The fatigue is real... the woke movement turned into a quick dead end

Much of the "Boomer" business demographic, from left to right, is pushing to maximize their remaining working years, especially after their children blame the mess wrongly on them.  Societies get stuck in cycles, and fatigue is an inevitable part of that cycle.

To me, it feels like America's/ humanity's advancement is hindered by this cycle, as we rarely have multi-generational projects best we can hope for is 8-12 years of one set ideology, till we backtrack and move in another direction

Individualistic cultures like The USA, yes. We only think about 1-2 future generations at a time (if that.)

China? Might be a different philosophy going on there..

It doesn't look like CA voters care what Texas does. Theres about 64% opposition to taking redistricting away from the independent commission that redraws it every 10 years.

*But* if it gets to the ballot, and people reverse their current opinion, the difference in outcome of 2024 is hypoethetically shown below.

[Image: Screenshot_20250818_200942_Samsung%20Internet.jpg]

I say hypothetical because its not looking likely. We took it out of legislative hands in 2008 (Prop 11), by vote, so we cant just do it through the legislature like Texas.

I do like the message of the redraw: You guys can still have Death Valley and the central part of the state where the air pollution collects.

Unfortunately (for everyone hoping CA will counter Texas), the residents have to vote on it first, and preliminary polling wants no part in retaliatory gerrymandering.
