They dominate rare-earth processing.
But that's economics, not "world domination."
They invested early in refining, we didn't.
Greenland does have potential rare earth and mineral deposits.
But comparatively speaking, they are hard to access, costly to mine, and completely undeveloped.
I hate to suggest this, but Venezuela is probably the better bet.

By hook or by crook, the USA will have hegemony over the Arctic Circle in the North American sphere.
It's as simple as that.
We have to, or Russia and China will.
They certainly don't care about Denmark or Greenland either.
