They only tolerate the Danes because of the money.
They want to be independent from Denmark but cannot yet or they would have.

Now my opinion…
Until Greenland can go independent, the US seems to be a better match for the natives than Denmark.
China and Russia are more than Denmark can handle, even with 12 French troops.
