The Danes had their chance, and sterilized the whole damn country.
Greenlanders will live better(wealthier, being able to have children) under US protection.

The natives don’t have any connection to Denmark, other than money.

Funny how the Arctic was “no big deal” for years while we subsidized half of Europe’s energy and defense. Now that the U.S. signals it’s serious about securing it, suddenly everyone discovers sovereignty and shared interests. Call it tariffs, call it leverage, call it Trump mind games. End result is the same: attention, alignment, and the Arctic treated like it actually matters. Works every time.

BOTTOM LINE: The United States is rapidly preparing for war with China,
as China does the same (and initiated it).

China's test of a low earth orbit glide vehicle put Greenland into play.

Massive infrastructure investment will be required to power and secure the missiles, lasers, sensors and other technology necessary to convert Greenland into the fortress it needs to be to confront this threat.

The EU could share the immense cost in cash, but it's unlikely they would do so with access to the technology - unwise given demographic changes and other EU problems.

The trade is simple and the EU was never and is not an equal partner -->

US defense of Europe against this new threat, in exchange for Greenland. Trump should simply state this plainly.

Underfunding your security for decades, not heading the warnings by the U.S. ("Don't buy Russian Energy" Trump 2017), the decades of U.S. defending Greenland (85 years), U.S. confidence level with Europeans to defend North America lands, including Greenland, doesn't exist.
