Going To The Store…

Not for revenge for such a violent outburst, not for 'teaching lessons' to an unknown student...

but because 'peace' needs to be preserved...
and pressing charges is how we deal with this to eliminate any growing threat to people.

But I can't imagine (taken as a narrative the assailant provided) the sucker punch he endured discovering his mate was unfaithful... he must have been reeling and the rage he must have been nurturing... when he saw... the man who 'took' his mate.

I've always detested the 'sucker punch' strategy, and often seen it used and "explained as something else."
It's kind of pathetic... so I don't think I'd ever go there as a strategy.

This person struck you and claimed this thing....
then left....
no cameras...

(You know Im joking here....)

Are you sure you didn't get the "magic" black eye ...  and this is all some elaborate cover story????

Haha, I just wanted to join the club of magic black eyes.

They have his face on camera from when he walked in the store. They have him on camera punching me.

The camera that caught the punch was behind him.

He ran out of the store after he swung on me and I caught his arm and snapped it. The outside cameras are not working, they did  it get his car or plate info.

The cop said they are trying to match him but this is not a robbery. It’s low priority.

Let's break that down a little.

An unprovoked physical assault causing injuries, in a public space, where you defended yourself and in the process may have broken the prep's arm, is "low priority" because it isn't a robbery.

OK, now sue the store for lax security, including the non-functioning security cameras, for pain and suffering, medical bills, etc. and I bet their priorities change.

I have a feeling that if this happened on the street, the law's priorities would go even lower and the security footage would have been more than adequate.

Sorry to see/hear how such stupidity can happen these days. Get professional advice about bruise reduction, and have eye check when possible.

Mad world , hope the Police prove to be more helpful, …. Have a nice weekend

ps. I too experienced such a pointless punch many years back,
I’m old enough to know it, but too old to ever care.

I went to the store today. Minding my own business. Shopping for something to cook tonight.

I was about to get chicken breast to grill.

All of a sudden I was punched in the face and lip by an older man. I was not expecting this.

I have been kick boxing for 20 years and could have hurt this person, but I did not hurt him.

I warned him, I said if you hit me again I will break your leg and your arm. He was all kinds of pissed off. He tried to throw another punch at me. This time I turned shopping into a boxing ring and I caught his arm and most likely broke it in self defence.

I asked him why are you attacking me.

He said my wife is having an affair and you kind of look like the person that was on my ring doorbell camera.

I told him that you just hit the wrong person. He ended up running out of the store.

I told the manager and he called the police. It was on their cameras.

I really don’t want to press charges and deal with this. I would rather have Karma take over.

I think you did the right thing.  Suppose you had rearranged the structure of this old man.   How would you have felt.  I think I know that you would have "what iffed" yourself to death.  Karma comes back to bite those that transgress upon the good folk holding their own.  I know this.  Sometimes, however, Karma is bluidy slow for my liking.   Still, it's a constant.

Hope you are okay, and hope if it left a scar, that it's a cool one.   All our scars are perfect, you know?

I have been doing kick boxing for a long time! Sure I have been trained to defend. Defend only in a bad situation. My instructor is a beautiful killing machine who has made me promise to never hurt anyone unless you are attacked.

He has always taught up to run first if you can.

I hurt his arm and I feel bad but I was protecting myself.

I kind of like the cut on my face and the black eye. It will look great on my trip lol.

So sorry to hear that , Quantum12......
I am glad it wasn't worse and that you were able to defend yourself and put some pain into him.

You might try to pick up some homeopathic ARNICA meltaways.
Really helps mitigate bruising and swelling.
DM me if you are unsure of what I am talking about.

It takes a couple of days  to really get into your system, but it does work.   Really helped a lot when I stubbed my big toe last month.
When I had a lower tooth pulled a few years ago, I took the little meltaways for about a week prior....didn't even need pain meds.  Very little swelling or bruising.
