Israeli president calls on Netanyahu to ‘accept and approve’ ceasefire deal; US president confirms agreement and says US hostages to be free in first phase

Gaza ceasefire deal: what we know so far. Here’s a look at where things stand:
  • Hamas and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire deal, Qatar announced on Wednesday evening in Doha. The deal, which is set to be begin on Sunday and will last 42 days, will see the exchange of hostages detained by Hamas and Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons.

  • Other aspects of the deal include the return of Palestinians, who have been forcibly displaced by Israeli forces, to their homes across the Gaza strip. The deal will also see the facilitation of travel of people wounded by Israeli attacks and sick people in order to receive treatment, as well as the positioning of Israeli forces across the Gaza border.

  • Joe Biden has confirmed that Americans will be part of the hostage release. “This deal will halt the fighting in Gaza, surge much needed-humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and reunite the hostages with their families after more than 15 months in captivity,” Biden said.

  • Egypt is “preparing to bring in the largest possible amount of aid to the Gaza Strip,” according to state media reports. Coordination was underway to “open the Palestinian Rafah crossing to allow the entry of international aid” into Gaza, Egyptian state media reported.

  • Israel’s security cabinet will meet at 11am local time (0900 GMT) on Thursday to approve the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal, the Times of Israel is reporting, citing Hebrew media. The Israeli government will vote on the deal on Thursday, with a majority of ministers expected to approve the deal, a government official told Reuters.

  • The US president-elect, Donald Trump, has rushed to claim credit for the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in another Truth Social post. Describing the deal as “epic”, Trump said the agreement could have only happened as a result of his “historic” election victory “as it signaled to the entire World that my Administration would seek Peace and negotiate deals to ensure the safety of all Americans, and our Allies”.

- Hamas will use it for their benefit.  It is just a 'time to reload' for them.  This isn't peace.  It's just getting some of the hostages back.  Hamas said they will never stop attacking Israel.

- Biden will try to take credit.   We all know that the only reason this happened is because Trump said that the hostages better be released before he takes office or there will be hell to pay.   The hostages are to be released the day before Trump takes office.

Good news. I dont like Trumps chest pumping, but the question is would main stream media give him any credit if he wouldnt bring it up? Probably not. And he should get credit because this is not a coincidence just before his inauguration and considering he explicitly told both parties its better to get it resolved before he gets into office.

Does it really matter FF who gets the credit?
Surely the priority is that the hostages are to be released and there will be an end to the killing.....at least for now.

Got to say though, I too am sceptical as to Hamas's sincerity and suspect they'll just use the time to regroup, rearm and prepare for its next attack.
I really hope I'm wrong.
I believe in this and its been tested by research, he who fucks nuns will later join the church.

I don’t think Trump is playing and I think they know that he would make good on his promise. It’s pretty pathetic that Biden has been spineless about getting our hostages back. There’s going to be a whole new mentality come next week. If they did attack again pretty sure the wrath of god would be released on them.

We’ll see, I also hope you’re wrong.

Inside fears are thinking they've setup a failure with this and Trump will be blamed.

Some sources like The Krassenstein Boys are already saying some Hostages are released.

No actual confirmation however as typical.  Shocked

Are 30 hostages just some of the hostages? About 10 are reported dead.

Edit: This source claims there are currently 100 hostages.

Yeah, Biden did take credit for this on his speech this evening.  I figured he would do that.  I hope all the Democrats are smart enough to actually see this had nothing to do with Biden...other than the fact his declining mental condition led to the loss of the election to Trump.

It is not just Trump that got this cease fire going either, a couple of countries have been working with Israel and Hamas to convince them that it can work...We will see, I feel that this agreement could just be a ploy by Hamas to strengthen and fight another day.
