it is language ambiguity; in american "practice" can mean either:

To do or perform habitually or customarily; make a habit of. E.g. "practices courtesy in social situations."
or: To do or perform (something) repeatedly in order to acquire or polish a skill. E.g. "practice a dance step."

one implies still learning, the other implies already learned.

it is weird.

Ask any true master of something and they will tell you they must practice because A if you don’t use it you lose it and B. There is always room for improvement, perfection ever recedes just out of reach.

You're assuming these are competing realities.

They probably bleed into one another.

I mean we could debate what's really real forever.

To nudge back to topic, an interesting though: if life or experience is partially cyclical, perhaps "ESP" in the form of prognostication is a manifestation of resonance between various iterations of this cyclicity? Like, future similarities to the past create a bridge that can be sensed in the present? It's all very woo-woo, I know...

Ahh the river! From where does it come from and to where does it go? The mountain top you say is its source and it journeys to the sea. Ah ha yes, but if so why is it yet here, caught in the present just as you and me?

That 'thing' has a name and everybody wants it. It hides behind a big wall and it's called more!

Well everybody except me that is. I'm of the opinion that more is less and people are nuts.
