Authorities recovered a bolt-action rifle (not specified as Mauser in sources like NYT or BBC). Distance was about 200 yards from a rooftop. Video shows the suspect fleeing without a visible rifle, possibly disassembled. Investigation is ongoing; some details, like assembly timeline, remain unclear.

I'd heard it was vintage army surplus.
Perhaps stolen from father's collection?

Felony larceny, armed robbery, assault, you know, the usual.

Where are your sources for those claims, because I didn't see anywhere his crimes were listed.
Anyway, deflection to not back on topic, but rather to the goulish topic of a kill for a kill, because I won't be seeing any sources from those claims. BTW, you can expect some death row inmates in Utah to face their death 30 years later.

"For others, like Randy Gardner, whose brother Ronnie Lee Gardner was executed by firing squad in 2010, the death penalty only deepens the pain.
“It messed us up, it messed me up a lot,” Gardner shared, expressing frustration that, in his view, the state should not have the right to end a life."

The official autopsy concluded that he died from "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression."
And the report explicitly states "the restraint by the officers" was the "central factor leading to death."
Let's deal with the facts, please, and not your feelings.
What does the murder of George Floyd have do with this thread?

From the news conference, the FBI and government are taking credit for apprehending the shooter, when they failed at every turn.

Looks like they were successful in not only getting him, but in building an airtight case against him.

It was only a matter of time.
In addition to all the forensics, they just confirmed they knew his vehicle too.

They didn't get him, his father brought him in. It was their religious leader and the father that talked the shooter into surrendering, they should be getting all the credit.
