My Dad had a 1968 Espresso Pontiac Bonneville, it wasn't special at all with its tannish imitation pleather. But we spent a lot of time in that car, it was a 2nd childhood home.

Dad traveled for a living, and during a few summers, he would take his wife and his 4 kids on his sales trips. I mean, wait in the car while we travel from town to town with 3-5 appointments a day for 2-week trips.

I'd like to get one of those restored, or my first car white 1975 Ford Capri II Ghia

That is so cool that you were able to drive around in the history!

That’s been my dream car since I was very little. I always wanted a 64 Impala lowrider. I had some health issues in 2018. When I was recovering I realized how short life is and I needed to fulfill my dream. I pulled the trigger on it in 2019.

The car scene in and around Detroit is awesome. It’s a very eclectic scene compared to other major cities. Everyone gets along. At any one show you can find everything: hot rods, mini trucks, lowriders, and even old Packards and Rolls Royces. And they all get along. It’s great!

Every weekend in the warm months can be a car show on many of the main throughfares in metro Detroit.
Telegraph, Woodward, Van Dyke, Gratiot, Harper.....I'm sure there are more.

I was a teen in the nineties and lived close to Gratiot. I still remember the first few nights being out there. I had never experienced that much life in one place before. It was so busy and slow moving in spots. You could just hear people laughing, the occasional burnout and music everywhere. I can still feel the warm air on my face as I would stick my head out the window. Some of the coolest cars I had ever seen, it was really like living in a movie. God I miss those simple moments.

Damn thats about how it looked sitting in our driveway BITD. In the summers,  one week we'd go on road trips for business, the next week, he'd hook up the motorcycle trailer to the Bonny load up our hunting rifles, and we'd ride the logging roads at the hunting lease and target practice. In the fall, we were hunting in the same car

We had a program on Packard cars in the UK recently. This one factory in Detroit employed 40,000 workers! Holy smoke what a place. The concrete used was so strong that the factory made cars on numerous levels. Totally amazing place. Was guest starring on American Pickers. Nice cars btw  Cool

That is awesome! With 340 hp The 68 Bonneville could work overtime!
