Breaking News - Air India 171 to London Gatwick crashes in Ahmedabad - 240+ Souls

They’re at no more risk during war time than any other time. Military aircraft have a lot of redundancies and protections that civilian aircraft don’t, but most of that is geared towards damage control and protection.
Despite being recovered the 13th and 16th of June the data recorders weren’t flown to New Delhi until the 24th of June.
Right now media seems to speculating or blaming the Air India maintenance inconsistencies. Hopefully they can figure it out from the damaged recorder.

Let's hope, now that they have the many reasons for this tragic crash, major changes will happen, Encia22.

This video explains the many contributing factors that caused this crash (from black box). Many people are outraged.

I’d love to see the source for the video claims, because no one else is reporting anything being released by India about the data recorders.

Supposedly, according to a few news sources, there is a preliminary report available, which I can't find yet.

The final report is supposedly due in July.

It appears the preliminary report cited is not yet available or leaked, so we should not believe any of the headlines at this point in time.

The final report will be a year or more before it’s released. There’s no way that it will be released in July.

The supposed preliminary report that was released was fake. There is nothing that has been released so far.  Last Wednesday was when the recorders were delivered to the lab to decode. It takes days to decode and go through them.
I don't know, this aviation expert says the usual procedure is to give the public daily briefings, and he is saying that it's suspicious in that he thinks they are trying to hide something.

I seem to remember that a recent other plane crash voice recorder data and other data was released right away to the public, but that's from memory, so I could be wrong. I really wasn't paying attention to whether or not the investigators would remain silent or not for suspicious reasons, as the aviation expert in the video seems to imply.

Concerns are being raised about the transparency of the investigation. It took a week to get the data recorders to the lab, and instead of sending them to the US or France, both of which have extensive experience dealing with recorders, they sent them to the lab in India, which opened in April of this year. It was almost two weeks from the time they were recovered to the time they were downloaded.

The ICAO requested an ICAO investigator that was in India be given observer status, but the request was refused by the Indian government.

The Indian AAIB runs under the authority of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which has caused concerns about political pressure being brought to bear.
