BREAKING: Magnitude 8.7 earthquake Russia, Tsunami Watch

Central Coast of California here. Reports are that a tsunami advisory has been issued. 10ft waves are expected. Here are some ETAs:

If the tsunami were to form, the arrival times were estimated to be as follows:

    Fort Bragg: 11:50 p.m. July 29

    Crescent City: 11:55 p.m. July29

    Monterey: 12:15 a.m. July 30

    Port San Luis: 12:35 a.m. July 30

    San Francisco: 12:40 a.m. July 30

    Santa Barbara: 12:50 a.m. July 30

    Los Angeles Harbor: 1:05 a.m July 30

    Newport Beach: 1:10 a.m. July 30

    Oceanside: 1:15 a.m. July 30

    La Jolla 1:15 July 30

Workers at the Fukushima Nuclear Plant have been evacuated to higher ground.

"The failure of the seawall during the tsunami revealed serious weaknesses in the plant's flood protection systems. In response, TEPCO has prioritized the construction of higher seawalls and more robust flood barriers to protect against future tsunamis."

Somehow I am guessing that the Climate change people will somehow try to blame this earthquake on Climate change caused by fossil fuels. 

With all the things happening lately, it sounds like we may have pissed off some of the AuThors of the reality we are in, some may refer to these authors as the angels.  Sounds more like mankind is flunking our test of righteousness than just global warming.  We were supposed to take care of this garden of Eden we were assigned to oversee, but we seemed to have over the last century harmed it more than manage it.  Sounds almost biblical to me that all this is happening.  Maybe thousands of years ago they had something similar going on, messing up things in the world, and an ark needed to be built.

Not much of a believer in religion, but maybe it is a history lesson that we are supposed to learn from, maybe there was more technology and destruction going on than we have history of, purposely erased from history to make it so we would not repeat the mistakes made before Noah.

I may not believe in religions translation of the bible, but I sure do not believe the world we have created now is real either.  We have been conditioned over the centuries to believe in what government and powerful individuals want us to believe in.  The values they place on many things are not justifiable, and consumerism conditioning is gone crazy.  I know that conditioning by governments is still strongly used to make people dependent and fear being without the governments, we are being controled.  Think about this, the stock value of a company has nothing to do with whether that company is worthy, belief controls the gambling of the stock market, and belief controls the value of our money.  There is nothing real about either of those.  Everything can crumble and what we have lost just like during an earthquake pr tsunami.  The value of our property can drop like a meteor falling from the sky.  Even the value of gold can plummet, why would anyone think that it is immune from loss of belief in it.

So this will probably be blamed on climate change by the people who get rich and gain power from our belief it is caused by it.  It is way more than burning fossil fuels that is going to destroy our environment, it  has a lot to do with chemicals  created by science....but they want us to believe it is our fault, not those who used science to create things so someone could gain wealth or power. 

Ok, enough ranting, lots being told about doom and gloom for America, Japan, and other allies of ours on the news, but of course little is being told about how it is hurting our adversaries.

Is this like the 4th large earthquake this month along the ring of fire? There is that 3.5 miles object approaching the inner solar system could it's gravity be tugging on the plates?

In 2032 they say that there may be a risk of a pretty good size asteroid hitting the moon.  Big enough to send out a pile of meteors of smaller size that could come to earth.  I suppose that it is better than that hitting the earth though.

But, I wonder what that shock from that asteroid will do to the earth when it hits to the moon.  It is in an orbit, that orbit will be tugged on and it should effect stuff like fault lines connected to the magnetic field to some extent.  If you pull on a magnet in a shared field with another magnet, it will cause some effects on the other magnet even if they are not touching.  Oh well, that is the year social security is supposed to run out anyway

Last I heard was the waves observed so far actually making landfall were on the low end on forcasts. 30-40cm in Japan and so far only a little footage of coastal flooding in Russia. Hawaii should start seeing waves in a few hours. I guess Midway and a few other islands may report within an hour or 2. It appears to not be as bad as expected but it also depends on the geography of the coastline it hits.

It looks like everyone finally left the beach and the boats that were at the docks went out to sea.

A lot of how big the wave is, is determined by coastal geography. If its a shallow gradient the wave is smaller...if its a steep gradient the wave gets higher...if its a bay it funnels all that energy into a tighter space and its even bigger. It sounds like most places will be ok but I wouldn't be surprised if some bayside areas see a bigger effect.

That is a massive earthquake.
I saw report that a few whales beached themselves in Japan recently.
I wonder if it’s related.
Seems like warnings are more serious and uniform since that Indian Ocean tsunami 20 years ago.
Hopefully everyone makes it higher ground and also hope that quake wasn’t a foreshock.
