Arm yourself somehow

Don't get me wrong, you should have a gun, but a dog is your early warning system. Not everyone can afford sophisticated alarm systems, but a dog is better.

I have 3 and they have different barks for different situations.

There's - "I see a deer lemme go chase it !! "

Then there's "That's a new cat lemme go sniff it !! " { my dogs love cats and wouldn't hurt them they just like to play with them }

and then there's " Somebody is outside !!! "

Hair raising, blood curdling howls and barks that have me reaching for my gun before my eyes are even open. You don't need a $10,000 trained attack dog, just a good 'ol mutt will do and you have the benefit of making a friend for life.

I remember when this first happened there was mention of one of the victims had a dog.  Im not sure if she had it at college or if it was at her home with her parents.

Did anyone watch the hearing last week with the family members making statements?

Out of morbid curiosity I turned the tv on about 30 in.  I watched maybe 10 minutes and turned it off. It’s become sickening what the media industry will do for ratings.

I know the families are broken will never be the same but holy moly, you could feel the demonic presence in that room.  Kohlberger looked like he wanted to jump over the table and strangle them and at the same time, enjoying the attention. Some of the ones speaking seemed to be under an evil influence as well.

The Chapin family opted out of appearing and I say, good for them.  Mrs Chapin did participate in a documentary on Prime and said she had no desire for the added attention nor to be in the same room as Kohlberger as it would not change anything.

Did you guys hear about the double murder at Devil's Den state park? Mom and dad murdered in front of their children on a hiking trail?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nati...450666007/

I don't know every single detail of this and they've caught the guy, but I'm guessing the couple was not armed.

No matter what the opinion is on guns or self defense, this would have been different if someone was armed.

Again I'm assuming right now that they weren't armed just based on the news reports I've seen.

There are mentally ill people out there. It is very very easy to obtain a knife. It is easy for a mentally ill person to shoplift a knife and commit murders. If this guy was hearing voices in his head telling him to do this nothing would stop him but self defense. Or a gun. Large branch to knock him in the head.

This perpetrator looks totally deranged and insane! AND THE NEWS SAID HE IS A FIFTH GRADE TEACHER!!!! An elementary school teacher this deranged rolling around with electrical tape over his license plate just searching for someone to murder. Here he is don't say I didn't warn you.

My ex would always say "it's not a movie, Sho" and he felt like people aren't really bad and that if you just give somebody what they want they won't hurt you. One of many reasons he is an ex. I always thought that was a weak viewpoint. If someone is trying to hurt me or take my things, they're going to be very surprised.

Nobody SHOULD be unsafe going on a nice summer afternoon hike with their kids. Nobody should be unsafe and at risk of their life. But because of the way this society operates and "feel good politics" [can't hurt anybody's feelings now even when you are trying to HELP them] these lunatics are just out here murdering people left and right.
