Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ? Have you been cleansed by His blood?
(08-15-2025, 07:36 AM)TheWay Wrote: Yes Swada, I believe those were real phenomena that could be seen and heard by everybody.

Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place. Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak. (Acts 2:1-4 WEBPB)

On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled. Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain. All of Mount Sinai smoked, because the LORD descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice. (Exodus 19:16-19 WEBPB)

Good.  I asked because many people say the holy ghost guides their way without experiencing any physical signs. One has to be increasingly receptive to the sounds.  Not allow their knowing mind to drown those subtle sounds out with its useless wanderings (knowing).  Eventually the sounds will alter to sounds of drums, thunder and trumpets as our frequency shifts to ever higher planes of spiritual existence. Which in turn collapses the ego-segmentation of our limited mind so we can then experience the unsegmented will of the Father (not subtle at all).

So I suggest to you. Revelation is not about Jesus returning to this world. Revelation is about Jesus returning to your world, when you die for him, as Jesus died for you.

I'm sorry Swada. I disagree with almost all that you've written there. That frequency stuff is new-age lies. Revelation is about Jesus' literal inevitable return, not some sort of mystical allegory.

His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself. He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The Word of God.” The armies which are in heaven, clothed in white, pure, fine linen, followed him on white horses. Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the wine press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the sky, “Come! Be gathered together to the great supper of God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, small and great.” I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse and against his army. The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur. The rest were killed with the sword of him who sat on the horse, the sword which came out of his mouth. So all the birds were filled with their flesh. (Revelation 19:11-21)

“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” He who hears, let him say, “Come!” He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:12-17)
(08-15-2025, 08:58 AM)FlyersFan Wrote: You poor thing.   I spoke the truth.  Here it is again ...   The Catholic church is the original Christian church and it follows scripture to the letter.   AND ... it was the Catholic Council of Carthedge in 397AD that put the bible together ... taking Jewish texts and Catholic documents ... Catholic men deciding which were of God and which were not ... and the Catholic Pope putting the final stamp of approval on it.

The Roman Catholic Church does not follow Scripture to the letter, not even close. [snipped]

Salvation: The Roman Catholic church teaches that salvation is by baptismal regeneration and is maintained through the Catholic sacraments unless a wilful act of sin is committed that breaks the state of sanctifying grace. The Bible teaches that we are saved by grace which is received through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), and that good works are the result of a change of the heart wrought in salvation (Ephesians 2:102 Corinthians 5:17) and the fruit of that new life in Christ (John 15).

Assurance of salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that salvation cannot be guaranteed or assured. In contrast, 1 John 5:13 states that the things written by John in the letter of 1 John are for the purpose of assuring those who believe in the name of the Son of God that they have eternal life (but that certainty is meant to arise from honest self-examination in light of the criteria he outlined in his letter).

Good Works: The Roman Catholic church states that Christians are saved by meritorious works (beginning with baptism) and that salvation is maintained by good works (receiving the sacraments, confession of sin to a priest, etc.) The Bible states that Christians are saved by grace through faith, apart from works (Titus 3:5;  Ephesians 2:8-9Galatians 3:10-11Romans 3:19-24).

Baptism: In the New Testament baptism is ALWAYS practiced AFTER saving faith in Christ. Baptism is not the means of salvation; it is faith in the Gospel that saves (1 Corinthians 1:14-18Romans 10:13-17). The Roman Catholic church teaches baptismal regeneration of infants, a practice never found in Scripture. The only possible hint of infant baptism in the Bible that the Roman Catholic church can point to is that the whole household of the Philippian jailer was baptized in Acts 16:33. However, the context nowhere mentions infants. Acts 16:31 declares that salvation is by faith. Paul spoke to all of the household in verse 32, and the whole household believed (verse 34). This passage only supports the baptism of those who have already believed, not of infants.

Prayer: The Roman Catholic church teaches Catholics to not only pray to God, but also to petition Mary and the saints for their prayers. Contrary to this, we are taught in Scripture to only pray to God (Matthew 6:9Luke 18:1-7). Furthermore, Catholics are taught to pray in a vain and repetitive manner, which is forbidden by God (Matthew 6:7).

Priesthood: The Roman Catholic church teaches that there is a distinction between the clergy and the “lay people”, whereas the New Testament teaches the priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:9). Furthermore, Roman Catholic priests teach others to refer to them as “father”, a title that is reserved only for our earthly fathers and God; and the Pope as “Holy Father”, a title that is reserved only for God (Matthew 23:9Exodus 20:12James 2:21Galatians 3:29).

Sacraments: The Roman Catholic church teaches that a believer is infused with grace upon reception of the sacraments. Such teaching is nowhere found in Scripture.

Confession: The Roman Catholic church teaches that unless a believer is hindered, the only way to receive the forgiveness of sins is by confessing them to a priest. Contrary to this, Scripture teaches that confession of sins is to be made to God (1 John 1:9) and to our brethren (James 5:16).

Mary: The Roman Catholic church teaches, among other things, that Mary is the Queen of Heaven, a perpetual virgin, and the co-redemptress who ascended into heaven. In Scripture, she is portrayed as an obedient, believing servant of God, who became the fleshly mother of Jesus. None of the other attributes mentioned by the Roman Catholic church have any basis in the Bible. The idea of Mary being the co-redemptress and another mediator between God and man is not only extra-biblical (found only outside of Scripture), but is also unbiblical (contrary to Scripture). Acts 4:11-12 declares that Jesus is the only redeemer. 1 Timothy 2:5 proclaims that Jesus is the only mediator between God and men. Here Mary is given the same status as other believers (Matthew 12:46-50). Furthermore, worship of the “queen of heaven” is not a new concept, but was also practiced in Biblical history by pagans, provoking the LORD God to anger and wrath (Jeremiah 7:18Jeremiah 44:25-30).

The Ten Commandments: To this day the Papacy of the Roman Catholic church claims authority to be able to change both “the times” and “the law” (see the prophecy in Daniel 7:25). This is clearly manifested in their changing of the Ten Commandments (the complete removal of 2nd commandment on idolatry, the changing of the 4th commandment to “The Lord’s Day” meaning [Sun]day, and to maintain 10, the splitting the 10th commandment in two, becoming the 9th and 10th). Scripture clearly states that you shall not add nor take away from the word that God commands (Deuteronomy 4:2Deuteronomy 12:32Proverbs 30:5-6).

The Trinity: Scripture describes “God the Father” (who is Christ's Father), the “Son of God” (who is God's Son, Jesus Christ—also God), and the “Spirit of God”, which is their Spirit and not a separate person.

What did Jesus mean by “on this rock I will build my church” in Matthew 16:18?
Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” They said, “Some say John the Baptiser, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. I also tell you that you are Peter (petros), and on this rock (petra) I will build my assembly (church), and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.” Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ. (Matthew 16:13-20)

After Jesus declares that God the Father had revealed the truth to Peter, He says, “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18). The word for “Peter”, petros, is a masculine noun that means “a (piece of) rock or a stone”. The word for “rock” next mentioned is a different Greek word, petra, a feminine noun that means “a (large) rock, cliff, or ledge” and therefore something foundational. The difference in the two terms suggests that Jesus was contrasting Peter with the truth about Himself. That is, Jesus was saying, you are the small rock, but I am the Christ, the Son of the living God, and this is the foundation on which I will build my church. This view finds support in other passages that present Christ, not Peter, as the foundation of the church (1 Corinthians 3:11) and the spiritually nourishing Rock of our fathers (1 Corinthians 10:4).

Of course, the apostles played a foundational role in the building of the church, but the role of primacy is reserved for Christ alone. So, Jesus’ words in Matthew 16:18 are best interpreted as a simple play on words: a large, rock-like, foundational truth came from the mouth of one who was called a stone.

Christ Himself is called the “chief cornerstone” (1 Peter 2:6–8; compare Matthew 21:42). The chief cornerstone of any building was that upon which a building is anchored. If Christ declared Himself to be the cornerstone, how could Peter be the rock upon which the church was built? Believers are the stones that make up the church. They are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets (not just Peter) and joined together with the Cornerstone—Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:20). “The one who believes in Him will not be put to shame” (1 Peter 2:6).

The Roman Catholic church argues that Peter is the rock upon which Jesus built His church, confers upon Peter the title of pope, and claims to be the one true church. As we have seen, however, identifying the rock as Peter is not the true interpretation of Matthew 16:18. Besides, it was after this that Peter denied Jesus three times (Matthew 26:69-75; Mark 14:66-72; Luke 22:54-62; John 18:15-18, 25-27). Furthermore, even if Peter was intended as the rock upon which Jesus promised to build His church, it does not give the Roman Catholic church any authority. Scripture nowhere describes Peter as being supreme over the other apostles. The New Testament does not describe Peter as being the all-authoritative leader of the early church. The origin of the Catholic church is not in the teachings of Peter or any other apostle. If Peter truly was the founder of the Roman Catholic church, it would be in full agreement with what Peter taught (Acts 2:14-41, 1 Peter, 2 Peter).

“For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11)

In Summary:
Many other examples can be provided. These issues alone clearly identify the Catholic church as being unbiblical. Every “Christian” denomination has traditions and practices that are not explicitly based on Scripture. That is why Bible Scripture must be the standard of Christian faith and practice. The word of God is always true and reliable. The same cannot be said of church tradition. Even when Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, he rebutted only with scripture (Matthew 4:1-11Luke 4:1-13). Our guideline is to be: “What does Scripture say?” (Romans 4:3Galatians 4:30Acts 17:11).

I didn't bother reading any of your drivel.  It's the same old tired garbage that fundamentalists whine about that isn't true.  Oh the arrogance.

Already addressed your nonsense on pages 12 and 13 of  your other whacked out thread.  Obviously you didn't read what was posted and learn, otherwise you wouldn't have been posting that garbage again.  https://denyignorance.com/Thread-The-Ten...on?page=12

The Catholic Church follows scripture to the letter.  And it holds fast to sacred tradition just as scripture says.  Thessalonians 2:15

I notice you never did respond to the facts I posted about how Jesus says you can't have eternal life unless you eat His body and drink His blood John 6:53-59 - something that you can only do in the Catholic and Orthodox churches because they are the only ones with apostolic succession Acts 1:21-26, 1 Timothy 4:14, and 2 Timothy 2:2.

I feel sorry for you.

Since we're talking the Fundimentalist interpretation of The New Testament, because that's the only "non-satanic" scipture now, who was your favorite writer of the 27 books?

There's generally considered 8 or 9 total writers. 8 if you attribute Hebrews to Paul.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, George, Ringo, James, Peter, Jude, and the guy that wrote Hebrews (likely Paul).

Paul wrote the most of any other author.  And even though he was kind of a hack writer (like some of the Epistles), he wrote a bulk (14 including Hebrews) of the works.  Paul wrote to mixed results.  Some was better like Romans, The Pastoral Espistles, Timothy 1 and 2, and When I'm 64 Titus.  But he was still the least polished in Greek prose.

John wrote the darkest most out there things. Like Revolution #9 The Book of Revelation. That is some really arty and dark nightmare vision shit John was into writing. Honestly, I think it was conceptual artist he started dating that made his writing more and more gimmicky.

The best writer is Luke, IMO.  THE gospel of Luke and The Book of Acts are standouts of linguistic mastery. A step up of all others.

So what if your favorite of the 8 or 9 distinguished writers of The New Testament?

Pharisees believed as you but Jesus said they were wrong...

Luke 17:20-21 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.”.

In physics, everything we know involves oscillations, waves, and vibrations.

Light is an electromagnetic wave with a frequency.

Matter behaves like waves at the quantum level (wave–particle duality).

Sound is literally vibration through a medium.

And Atoms vibrate, and their vibrations influence temperature and states of matter.

Reality, as we understand the place, is indeed all about frequency and vibration.
