It means if you tell porkies to the police, you gain a perverting the course of justice charge, which carries with it about 5 years in the clink.

They have searched his properties only after his arrest, not before.

Not been charged yet, just arrested.

So he's arrested but not charged?
Here when someone is arrested they are told what they are arrested for.
Then within 48 hours they are arraigned and formally charged in court.
Does the charging over there happen at a court date or something?
Does it have to be within 48 hours like here?

No.  He's been told what he was arrested for, interviewed and released pending ongoing investigations.

So no Court date yet.

As a prosecutor, he's guilty until proven even more ******* guilty.

That's apt to take proper authorisation, and court warrants will it not?

So yeah, a modicum of time i suppose.

Imagine being the judge signing those warrants through?
