The video is inconclusive, but it looks like they had 4-5 guys struggling with the resisting unsub, who raised up a little and allegedly was pulling out his gun and was then shot.

I don't know why the left thinks a LEO performing lawful duties has to wait for the unsub to draw on them and shoot 
before they can defend themselves

It’s legal to be armed there locally.
They said the dumbass had a permit.

Now, rationally, it’s probably not the best idea to bring a weapon to a protest, especially when most of their protests end up as riots.
Same as carrying in a bar, not the best idea ever.
It’s not against the law to have it though.

Personal responsibility goes up dramatically, which most people have a hard time with.
