Because the government has been shut down and no-one was getting paid, so hardly anyone was at work, for weeks?

Also, NASA stands for 'National Aeronautics and Space Administration'. The 'never a straight answer' is something that people who desperately want to believe in conspiracy theories use. Surprisingly, in a weird bit of cognitive dissonance, these people who say that NASA always lies, also seem to hang on to every word that NASA puts out.

This observer noted a lot 'wrong' with his 'comet' expectations...

I wonder now, if maybe there is an element of truth to the old "Electric Universe" idea...
If this thing had a radically opposite charge as the approaching sun...
maybe how it disperses would change radically.

Wish I knew an astrophysicist.

Wish I knew an astrophysicist.

I personally think that there may be something to the Electric Universe theory.  It doesn't have to be one or the other, there could be some reality to the EUT and some reality to the accepted theories that we are led to believe.  But they have more recently found some things about the sun that they had not known, from that little space probe that went somehow into the atmosphere of it and sent back some test results.  The Sun does not match the theories they had about how it works they found, just read that on a science site dealing with NASA releasing some information about what they found.

Our science is narrow minded some times, denying things are real that do not fit their beliefs of the time.  But that little satelite is real evidence, the data it was sending back proved major flaws in the present theory of how the sun works.  Now somehow they might be forced to change the textbooks and eat crow.

Some parts of the electric universe theory might be real, it is a theory, theories should be investigated and not just denied because it does not match consensus of the time.  Will they just hide the evidence from that sun probe or will they just change the science to match it.  I think they will blow it off till they get enough research money to do more tests to pay for more science projects for their field.  Accepting it as real could be embarrassing and it could lead to some lack of belief in that science, which could lead to way less research funding

I thought this astronomer's pics of Atlas were worth posting here. One shot is quite clear later on in the video where there appears to be fragments around it. The astronomer claims it is spinning in an odd direction. You make of it what you will.





The core of the comet looks blue one moment, then yellow the next. Very strange or maybe not because I don't know it's composition.

Do we drop the comet label?  Or does this rewrite the rules?  I keep asking the same question over and over again.  What is this thing?
