Into the appropriate positions doesn't mean close to Russia. The D5 goes up to 6500 nautical miles. The two subs were ordered into their normal patrol regions, to perform a standard missile patrol.

Just give it a little bit and Petey will publish the whole attack plan on Signal and include Fox News.

It looks like things have taken a little more of a serious turn with America's stance on Russia.
I thought Nuclear Submarine operations and movements were kept secret, obviously Donald wanted to let Putin and Medvedev know that he's taking Medvadevs insults very serious, and isn't happy with the progress on the peace talks so far. The actual locations of nuclear submarines on any given day, week, or month are highly classified. But telling an opponent you are essentially ramping up your preparedness for a conflict, if one should occur, is not an uncommon way of telling them that you are not going to back down from a confrontation. When B-1 bombers are moved to Diego Garcia island to be within easy striking range of Iran, or aircraft carrier strike groups are moved to the Red Sea, it sends a message. It's called "saber rattling".
The article doesn't describe what kind of "nuclear submarines" he's talking about, but I assume that he's referring to "boomers" that carry a large number of sub-launched ballistic missiles instead of attack subs that mainly go after other ships. And I assume that those boomers he's talking about are already at sea. The thing is, those sub-launched missiles on the boomers can fly half-way around the world, so they can basically target any point on Earth from being stationed at any point in the ocean. Saying that they have been moved to "appropriate regions" doesn't change anything since they are pretty much always in "appropriate regions".

Yeah, things have definitely escalated, and the whole situation with the U.S. and Russia is heating up to say the least.
It's like watching a game of high-stakes poker, but with nuclear weapons on the table.
The secrecy around military movements is typically pretty tight, but when someone like Trump starts throwing his weight around, the line between strategy and spectacle can get blurred.
If this drags on, both sides are going to have to walk a very fine line to avoid making things worse.
Trump trying to walk a fine line is like watching a toddler in a trampoline park, he's all over the place.
And we can only push the "nuclear button" so much before it becomes more than just a metaphor.
As always, i hope, cooler heads prevail.
I've grown quite partial to existence.

If nuclear war breaks out, it won't just be isolated to being 'over there'.
"A Russian nuclear strike on the U.S. homeland would look to decapitate American political and military leadership, sever vital command and control communication channels, nullify as many nuclear assets as possible, and devastate key industrial and commercial zones.
Washington, D.C., New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami, Philadelphia, Houston, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver and Miami would likely be among the top metro area targets, given their mix of political, military and industrial value."

Relax.
There is nothing Putin can do to stop Trump's hydrosonic torpedoes.
And lets not forget the Super duper missile.
It is said to be unstoppable.
