Narratives are free to create... but I just can't buy that as an "attack."

Agreed. That robot appears to havelost balance and corrected it abruptly, anything that remotely appears aggressive will inevitably be correlated to hostility despite being utterly devoid of sentient agency, this is a security concern insofar as allowing a prototype droid to approach a civilian. Big no no for obvious reasons.

Biped robots? Most likely not going to happen. It would take some serious engineering and programing, your probably talking about merging Tesla self driving Tech wilth lidar tech, and adding gyro technolgy. Most likely the first biped robots that can do anything useful will be so heavy they would probably fall through the average persons floor, or not even to be able to fit through the average doorway.

Very true but that's how technology develops. 

I'm sure you remember the first mobile phones or the first computers. 

Eventually they will figure it out. 

We are just at the beginning of this new technological revolution.

ehh, who knows? Actually kind of surprising nothing really notable has been invented yet. Not even something noteable with tracks/wheels.
