Do you make Music - Post it here...
#21
Sounds great, good job on the vocals

Been playing since the seventy’s, countless bands and what not.   My storage was broken into a few years ago and they took everything in it including all my recorded music, very sore subject.
Apparently I’m in cult now, someone here told me so.

or even just an instrumental jam over a backing track just to get started... : )

You got some great music, like that synth stuff too!
Could also do a Synth jam... that be cool haha...

I play a few Strats, including a blue American Standard from before 9/11...  I call it my '911 Strat' along with some partscasters and Squires. My current favorite is a Mexican Fender Player Plus Telecaster.

I'm not that great at playing guitar either, I just need lots of recording edits haha.
And the stuff up there ↑ is all midi and Ai : P

I have about 10 guitars currently, I need to thin it down to 5 or 6 at the most. I had a bit of an obsession with buying used guitars lately! ?

We could do virtual jams by sharing ideas and tracks of any sort, might even get a tune out of it?
I imagine the latency would be to bad for any live jam?

I feel your pain. I had a girlfriend who would "re-home" my guitars before band practice. She would leave notes: Going on a little vacation. Don’t worry, they’ll be back… eventually.

Right on... I have the same problem with buying guitars.

I used to do live jams on Frog with some guitarwar peeps...
The biggest problem with live jams... everyone was in different time zones.
I would stay up to 4am on some of them, there was a lot of great shredding, though, haha...

Maybe a collaborative approach, might be more sustainable... don't have to worry about times etc...
I'm really open to any ideas.

Once upon a time, I would be interested. Actually, attempted to do this on ATS when they shut the world down. Aside from being super rusty, I’ve had a stroke a couple months back and the arm/hand doesn’t want to cooperate totally. Still got some work to do on that. In my heart and mind I’m totally down for it. Physically , probably not very capable at the moment. ?
I don't give answers , I give questions. But sometimes,  those questions  are the answer. There's madness to my methods. Tumble

Ok great stuff, when I did some collaboration before I would make a private track on soundcloud and send the link over for them to download and add their own stuff. In that case I did the music and others provided the vocals, but an entire track could be made this way. My weakness are singing and drums. You could argue my weakness is everything music related haha but I’m cool with that as it’s just a bit of fun, and trying to express some feelings for me.
if soundcloud doesn’t work for you I’m sure there’s over ways of send files back and forth. So just let me know of anything that works best for you.
I have a lot of ideas I’ve recorded that need development so no shortage of material at my end  Biggrin

I’m sorry to hear about your stroke, it shouldn’t stop you from writing lyrics and even recording a melody with your voice though right? I often just hum an idea into a mic because if I pick up a guitar it can end up being completely different. Where as if I record the gist of it straight away, I can figure out everything else later, and keep the original humming as a reference. If that makes sense?
I too am rusty and sometimes my playing has the local cats joining in!  Lol

Also my mums neighbour had a stroke two years ago now, when I first saw him I barely recognised him, but now he’s doing great and you would barely know he had one at all! If you’re speech is slurred like his was, it doesn’t matter, you can stil be involved, making suggestions, providing feedback etc… is always much appreciated and we could work on some of your pre stroke recordings if you’re down for that?

im sure there’s something we can work out.  Smilegrin

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Luckily, I wasn’t as bad as a lot of people. I’m not 100%, but I can play now a little. I pretty much only make simple riffs anyways, I’m not that skilled and never have been. I can upload riffs, wherever, maybe someone can make it better or be inspired to hear something else and take it in a whole different direction than what was intended. Happens to me sometimes, I hear 1 or 2 notes and my mind takes it in a whole diff direction. My lyrics writings are practically nil and juvenile, meaning pretty simple and goofy. I was a little inspired during the World Closure and wrote some stuff.

Sorry to hear you’ve been through that... glad to hear you're doing better now.
Sometimes the simplest riffs are the ones that hit the best.
There are so many ways to make music... just a quick, short recording can turn into something great.

I just joined SoundCloud, sounds workable to me.
Here’s my page: https://soundcloud.com/iron-imitator.

I’m definitely up for hearing what you’ve been working on, so feel free to send something over when you’re ready. I might be able to add something or help shape an idea. No pressure either way... will be fun!

And yeah, I’ve got my own weak spots too... some keys just don’t like me at all, haha. : )

I am the songwriter / singer / musician on all the following tracks

Except the two collaborations at the bottom which were written by someone else, on which I only wrote and performed the melody and lyrics

Commercial rock tracks (soft radio rock)
