Here’s one of my tracks... now let’s hear yours.
It doesn’t matter how you made it, what tools you used, or what genre it is.
Finished or rough, instrumental or full song... just post it.
Let’s hear what you’ve been working on ?
Song Title: Signal Lost
About: Have you ever experienced an alien close encounter? It starts with a flash... a hum... and then everything goes silent. Radios cut out. Memory blurs. Perception fractures. If you've felt that... or fear it... this song is for you.

You have excellent pipes. Really. Good. Voice. During Covid, I wanted to create something with Johnny Anonymous of ATS, but didn't get the equipment in time to do so. I now have the equipment, but I find the software downloads to be a tad daunting. I know, Iknow. I can't yet use my equipment, and it was my birthday present from a year ago. So, birthday rolls around again. I really want to make another effort to figure out this stuff and record my own music. I got the music in me.

Solo acts only or can be a band?

I made music once.
I had an introvert roommate during covid. Which wasn't really a lockdown at all for them. Go figure.
One of the things they did was smartphone music which was mostly terrible, lazy, and annoying to listen too get written without headphones. Had no concept of key changes, breakdowns or anything. Just bad and simple.
But one was not like the others. Not as bad and simple.
He was trying to do something fast and driving me insane sitting in the living room so I asked for his phone and demanded to finish the song. After quickly learning the program I ended up just trying to copy the Beetlejuice guy Danny Elfman. Took 3 hours. And he used it. It's whatever.
It was my first and last time doing a song on the tedious phone program he used. Because it was cheap and minimal and sounded terrible.
The YouTube channel this was part of is now gone.
* Deleted by creator after they realized I renamed everything song on their channel after my pseudonym, because they insisted I take over all their online accounts... to help them get back some online stalker they believed they had. (That's a hard and funny story to explain)

argentus My voice sounds the way it does because of processing... lots of plugins like Sonarworks SoundID boosting it big time. There are AI tools now that make all that way easier... cleanup, mixing, mastering... no deep tech skills needed. Everyone uses this stuff now, unless you're an old school purist into traditional methods. Don’t let the software hold you back. Here is video of Doctor Mix showing off the software, about midway in the video. https://youtu.be/o3E4iMfTmtU?si=JDJGcUp3ME_Wv9XX

Anything goes... banging on cans, your dog singing, wind chimes, whatever. If you’ve made music in any form, solo, lyrics or with others, bring it. Genre doesn’t matter either... ambient, metal, hip hop, folk, noise... it’s all welcome. If it’s yours, it counts.

Awesome, you made something very cool out of chaos. I could totally hear the Danny Elfman influence when you mentioned it. Funny how one moment of “fine, give me the phone” turns into a legit track.

Great bass playing! That’s some real tone and groove!

I play drums and also produce and compose electronica and experimental, classical but I dont want my real name on here . I have been drumming maybe 29 years now! Where does the time go.
Best band memory is playing at the Metro in Chicago for the Smashing Pumpkins tribute show called Act IV. Was super cool for a college/high school band.
I haven't been in a band in about 7 years, but I have jammed with some people , it really is hard to find talent!
Lately I submit instrumental tracks for some compilations. I did a really fun Aphex Twin remix album a few years ago.
https://denyignorance.com/User-imitator I liked your track. I could only really tell the auto tune at the really high part in the middle.
Some Soundgarden influence ? :)
Keep on rockin everyone :)

Once upon a time there were some VHS tapes floating around with me singing at the Ferris Opry in Richmond, Mo., at a festival in the small town of Aullville and my cousin's wedding. Hopefully they're in the waste bin of history by now. I've done some song writing, maybe I'll share the the lyrics for the first love song I wrote for my second wife.

Yes, I recognize the processing, and yet, I also hear your vibrato and sustain, and that can't be faked. I think you have inspired me to dig out my equipment and figure it out. I played with many punk groups that nobody has ever heard of 50 years ago. I still got the chops. I can still sing. I missed my chance, but I'm not sorry for where I am. I found the love of my life and that is everything. Much better than being on the road in shitty hotels and busses. Still, I wouldn't have missed playing at Madame Wong's in L.A. in the 70's.
