It's all about the power of appearances.
Where we are led..., where we want to be led..., who (or what) is leading...
Lacking plain facts just plain sucks.
Having 'celebrities' 'spokespersons' (and now, irony of ironies, "faux AI") to create narratives for us, or otherwise to tell us 'what's what,' isn't all that much better.
People need to think for themselves with more frequency...
