Blame game, as usual with world leaders. As usual both sides' egos and power corruption have prevailed. Throw in their historical religious differences/past and resentments (feels more like hate from both sides) and the Western leaders don't have a clue how to assist with a deal in this situation. Using force for peace, maybe, but it was done before and it is evident peace will not last.
