I think its been the efforts of other countries/agencies that have been more instrumental in bringing about this deal......like all politicians Biden is simply using this as an attempt to enhance his reputation and legacy. (Too late for that methinks).
Trump's imminent Presidency may or may not have had some influence, I'm not sure.
The thing is, the more fanatical elements within Hamas aren't really bothered about Trump or anyone else. Their only goal is to rid Palestine of all non-Muslims 'from the river to the sea' and to set up some sort of fundamentalist Islamic Caliphate throughout the region. Sincerity and honesty are not considerations for them especially when dealing with non-believers.
They'll regroup, rearm and rethink their strategy etc and at some point, sure as night follows day, they'll resume hostilities.
I believe in this and its been tested by research, he who fucks nuns will later join the church.
