Im a fan of Strieber even before his Communion writings NGL I enjoyed WarDay more. Perhaps I need to stick my head back into Communion but in my first contemporaneous in 87 attempt the book seemed so disjointed. But who knows in 87 I was distracted with lust, love, and marriage so perhaps I didn't give it my full attention. But I did try again after the awful movie adaptation came out. I'll give them another look especially if they are on Audible.
You should check out the 2 I mentioned over Communion, he has come a long way with his personal evolution as well as digging up and understanding 'what really happened' to him, as well as the important part of this thread, the uselessness of the Intel Community and the gov in this scenario.
