Here is a possible synopsis of what happened:

Two shooters acting together. A specific time was allocated for the shootings to commence. The police officer climbing the roof and engaging Crooks, escalated Crooks actions sooner than the pre-planned time frame. Crooks fired the first three shots in haste. Which triggered the second shooter to shoot the last 5. Both snipers missed as they were rushed to action. If you listen to the shots, the first 3 are drawn out and not succinct. The last 5 come a few seconds later and have a completely different cadence (rapid and consecutive) to them.

Hmmmm...well, this is certainly a development if true.  I'm not particularly liking what I hear in those two X videos; the stories don't seem to line up with other events, but more digestion is required.
