Jesus is “one” with the Father in many ways:
Please note: this list and the corresponding Scriptural references are not exhaustive.

I have always been curious about how the El/Elohim relationship to Yahweh had similarities with God and Jesus.
But that probably speak s more to my lack of knowledge on the subject.

Looking into it briefly, I’m not sure that "El" or "Elohim" relates to YHWH in the same way the Father and the Son relate to each other. "El" or "Elohim" are linguistic titles used for God, whereas the Father–Son relationship is literal and personal. God is Father and Son, and they are one.

From wiki
Quote:Originally a Canaanite deity known as 'El, 'Al or 'Il was the supreme god of the ancient Canaanite religion[sup][10][/sup] and the supreme god of East Semitic speakers in the Early Dynastic Period of Mesopotamia (c. 2900 – c. 2350 BCE).[sup][11][/sup][sup][12][/sup] Among the Hittites, El was known as Elkunirša (Hittite: ????? Elkunīrša). Although El gained different appearances and meanings in different languages over time, it continues to exist as El-, -il or -el in compound proper noun phrases such as Elizabeth, Ishmael, Israel, Samuel, Daniel, Michael, Gabriel, Manuel and Bethel.
El is often described as the father of the gods and the creator of humanity. El had many epithets, including "Bull El," "El the King," and "Father of Mankind," reflecting his authority, wisdom, and paternal role. Over time, in Israelite religion, Yahweh absorbed many of El’s characteristics, gradually merging their identities through a process scholars such as Francesca Stavrakopoulou call "pantheon reduction".
Early or pre Judaism El would have been the supreme god of the canaanite pantheon. As Judaism formed into the monotheistic religion we see today, Yahweh became the one true god.
Quote:In the oldest biblical texts, Yahweh possesses attributes that were typically ascribed to deities of weather and war, fructifying the Land of Israel and leading a heavenly army against the enemies of the Israelites.[sup][13][/sup] The early Israelites likely engaged in polytheistic practices that were common across ancient Semitic religion,[sup][14][/sup] because the Israelite religion was a derivative of the Canaanite religion and included a variety of deities from it, including El, Asherah, and Baal.[sup][15][/sup] Yahweh likely became conflated with El in later centuries, taking his place as the head of the pantheon in the Israelite religion. El's consort Asherah became associated with Yahweh, and El-linked epithets, such as ʾĒl Šadday (אֵל שַׁדַּי), came to be applied to him alone.[sup][16][/sup][sup][17][/sup] Characteristics of other deities, such as Asherah and Baal, were also selectively absorbed in conceptions of
I can't find it now, but one explanation I have seen was roughly that Yahweh was part of the pantheon of El. As the supreme leader of the pantheon, all the other gods came from El. El then elevated Yahweh to being the god of the Israelites. So I see it as a similar Father/son god.

You are getting close to the realization of the truth. Yahweh was the horned god of the Canaanites that was taken over by the Israelites after they wiped them out for their land. Not only was the people wiped out in a genocide but their god concept was stolen.
Look back far enough and you will find everything about modern religion was stolen from earlier works. And those from even earlier ones.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised! He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. (Psalms 96:4-5)
This is what the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of Armies, says: “I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God. Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen. Don’t fear, neither be afraid. Haven’t I declared it to you long ago, and shown it? You are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me? Indeed, there is not. I don’t know any other Rock.” (Isaiah 44:6-8)
“See now that I myself am he. There is no god with me. I kill and I make alive. I wound and I heal. There is no one who can deliver out of my hand. For I lift up my hand to heaven and declare, as I live forever, if I sharpen my glittering sword, my hand grasps it in judgement; I will take vengeance on my adversaries, and will repay those who hate me. I will make my arrows drunk with blood. My sword shall devour flesh with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the head of the leaders of the enemy.” (Deuteronomy 32:39-42)
Hear the word which the LORD speaks to you, house of Israel! The LORD says, “Don’t learn the way of the nations, and don’t be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them. For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold. They fasten it with nails and with hammers, so that it can’t move. They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and don’t speak. They must be carried, because they can’t move. Don’t be afraid of them; for they can’t do evil, neither is it in them to do good.”
There is no one like you, LORD. You are great, and your name is great in might. Who shouldn’t fear you, King of the nations? For it belongs to you. Because amongst all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is no one like you. But they are together brutish and foolish, instructed by idols! It is just wood. There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the engraver and of the hands of the goldsmith. Their clothing is blue and purple. They are all the work of skilful men.
But the LORD is the true God. He is the living God, and an everlasting King. At his wrath, the earth trembles. The nations aren’t able to withstand his indignation. “You shall say this to them: ‘The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.’” God has made the earth by his power. He has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens. When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries. Every man has become brutish and without knowledge. Every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish. (Jeremiah 10:1-15)

And that is the God that I was taught to believe.
I prefer the 'way' of Jesus and/or his teachings.
Perhaps it is not so much how Jesus is one with the Father, but how his teachings diverge from man's written word which has taken humanity further away from God's truth.

Yeah, it's all rice and repeat, and a collection of rehashed tales from previous religions.
Truth is that in the beginning, it was probably more about Sun worship than Son worship...

Or...
"The concept of "creating God in our image" is the theological inverse of the biblical doctrine of Imago Dei (Image of God), which states that God created humanity in His own image (Genesis 1:26-27). While traditional Judeo-Christian theology asserts that humans are made to resemble God in rationality, morality, and relational capacity, the idea that humans project their own traits onto God is often referred to as anthropomorphism or projection. If Jesus was indeed the son of God, then what he taught was that were are indeed God-like or can be, rather than the devolving or unGod-like ways of being that many people choose instead.

We don't look very "God-like" from where im standing, mate.
Nothing perfect or omnipotent about us as a race for a start...
But we are in the process of creating our own, should AGI ever happen to become a thing...
Careful what we wish for, all the same.
