As a fairly new member I'm still catching up on threads of interest to me. This is one and I'm glad I found it.
I was in 5th grade, recess. The teachers called us all in and everyone was crying. Buses soon came and we all went home. My mother and I spent the next 3 days glued to the television, yes, including watching the assassination of LHO live.
To get caught up, I'm convinced, at least for myself, that it was a CIA/LBJ effort that most likely pulled in the Mafia for assistance, or to keep their hands as "clean" as possible.
Not sure about the driver pulling the trigger. I think I remember Zapruder asking for one frame of the video to be excluded from any publication. I also remember someone, I think it was the Secret Service, taking Zapruder to get the film developed and keeping a copy. Zapruder then sold a copy to Life magazine.
I've watched the video several hundred times over the years, including just a moment ago. There is no way I'm convinced all the shots were from behind.
Then there is the "confession" of James Earl Files. Does anyone here have an opinion? (My apologies if I missed it)
A few years ago I visited Dealy Plaza. It is much smaller than I had imagined it over the course of 50+ years. I looked out from the window in the School Book Depository (it is no longer named that, now a Dallas County building housing the assassination museum) and to the street it isn't as far as I had always thought. I guess a shot from there would have been a real possibility.
Just a guy trying to get by
