Something about the American taxpayers apparently having to subsidize the ""oil companies"" to go into Venezuela.

And so it begins...

"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

This should come as no surprise. It’s inherently subsidized because military action isn’t free. Directly providing support afterwards is just a bit more blatant.

Security will be a big issue in the beginning until the Cartels and loyalist are broken and scattered.

The way Trump seems to work I feel assured any subsidy given to the oil companies will be paid back in full with interest...Business 101

Begins? it never ended

American taxpayers have been subsidizing big oil for decades, and as bad as megacorp Oil  is, it's way better than completely nationalized oil

for all it's faults, megacorp Oil innovates and doesn't stagnate, tries to find a balance wherever it's located

Just some facts:

Nearly one half of the world's oil consumption lies in the road/transportation sector.

I think the statistics and forecasts are not taking into account the era of the electric vehicle and how oil consumption, therefore sales, will drop, drastically.

I think chasing after this resource doesn't make sense in the long term.

"Future of Electric Trucks Stats
The electric truck market is projected to be valued at USD 29.69 billion in 2024 and reach USD 124.97 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 27.1%. This growth is driven by regulatory pressure, government incentives, and improving economics. The market is experiencing explosive growth, with sales of electric medium- and heavy-duty trucks exceeding 90,000 worldwide in 2024, largely due to Chinese sales more than doubling between 2023 and 2024. More than 80% of all electric trucks sold globally in 2024 were sold in China, highlighting both the potential and the geographic concentration of current adoption. "

---

"Electric Vehicle Sales Worldwide
Electric vehicle sales have been on a strong upward trajectory, with global sales exceeding 17 million in 2024 and forecasts for 2025 expecting sales to exceed 20 million. This represents more than 20% of global car sales, with significant growth in emerging markets in Asia and Latin America. China remains the leading market, accounting for almost half of all electric car sales. Europe saw sales stagnate in 2024, but the sales share of electric cars remained around 20%. The United States experienced a growth of about 10% year-on-year, reaching more than 1 in 10 cars sold. Emerging markets in Asia and Latin America are becoming new centers of growth, with electric car sales jumping by over 60% in 2024 to almost 600,000 – about the size of the European market five years earlier."

Did you look up how many nautical miles it is from Cuba to Mar-e-Lago?.
I was not here.
Who had "people protesting because a communist dictator was toppled" on their 2026 bingo card?
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

Precisely.

He’s just continuing the policy of Bush and Obama. This is nothing new.

Saddam was a dictator. Gidaffi was a dictator.

People didn’t protest our involvement in toppling those regimes because they were sympathetic to them. They protested whether it was our place to use our resources and geopolitical capital to make it happen.

This is no different.

Why? Once occupied will Trump be building a connecting bridge?
