Worst cover songs in the history of music

Can't I do the best ones I've ever heard? I have so many more that I love than hate.

Which these ones top the list:

The Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter

Best song ever?  Why not start a thread about it 
I agree with Hazy Shade of winter....Way better than the S&G original.
Maybe the edginess or the phrasing but great.

As for WORST SONG.
This one is close to the top of the list.

My attempted fun threads tend to get ignored for all the other things I say, or others say, except the Trump bitching one and the philosophy one.  

I also hate the song "My Sharona." I used to mock it and think "what kind of nonsense thing is that? Like, what the hell is a Sharona?" 

And then somewhere around 2007 I ended feeling really bad about it when Alice Cooper said on his radio show that Sharona is the actual name of the lead singer's wife and they were still together. 

It's like being mean to someone for something you heard and finding out it wasn't true. But it still really is a terrible song.

So to on topic.

I really like Type O Negative, but their covers? They tend to just make classic songs as depressing or inverted as possible. I get the irony, but Summer Breeze isn't supposed to make you want to die.




And the slightly less topic-adhering "most unrecognizable cover song ever":

I like Manson's showmanship, his persona is like the shock rock of Alice Cooper without taking off the makeup later, and generally being that always, but he destroyed Annie Lennox in the process.

Hehehe that version of Summer Breeze sounds like something a deranged serial killer would have playing in the background while he's carving up bodies!

Funny thing about My Sharona, my dad used to always say that "who the hell is Sharona??"

Tori Amos has such a haunting voice! I didn't even know she covered Raining Blood and you're right, unrecognizable. I like her version because you can understand the lyrics. It's definitely a different interpretation but I think she added to it. Like.....it's not bad.

Tina Turner is an icon her voice just isn't meant for that type of song. It's like the backing music doesn't fit with her voice and tone. Like two things clashing.

That was really bad and I didn't think it would be THAT bad because most people describe her first solo album  [Tina Turns the Country On] as a "country" album and it's pretty good. I don't necessarily think of it as a country album, but most people do but it is pretty good. I think it won a Grammy.
