Who Will be the Next Pope.....

(05-08-2025, 05:42 PM)UltraBudgie Wrote: well put and i suspect correct. there is an excluded middle, politically and morally, on the issue of immigration. being against xenophobia and cruelty can simply be what it is, being against xenophobia and cruelty, without being part of some nefarious global agenda. and reading the new pope's speech, its heartening to see jesus quoted immediately, something some critics never seem to do. i know the church has to find some kind of middle ground, but part of me wishes for a strong matthew 7 stance, naming names and pointing fingers, calling out the ravenous wolves. probably won't happen, might not be in the cause of peace, but ah this is a spiritually thirsty time.

I know I over use this movie's overused line way too much, but the greatest trick the devil actually pulled was convincing the world where it exists.

Because I am deism-based, it has to be an allegorical devil that exists not only in heinous self-service, but in every flame thread, all salacious exclusive gossip, all sensationalism, and all the behavior that pushes humankind towards increased animosity with itself.

It's almost the same role as Kali in Hindu religion, to take you through hell, exploit your excess, and dissolve your ego and bring you back to a harmonious oneness with the divine way of self.  An Armageddon deity. Much like a Satan.

In a world programmed with indifference and chaos, the Tao of God is how we defy it's creation's ambivalence towards us. Embrace things like compassion. All this Satan of advesity does in the end is strengthen the value of our loving defiance.

For that, I surmise the intended trajectory of the ultimate programmer is for everything to become more kumbaya, but only through the initial disharmony of fighting towards a greater and more harmonious balance.  Which at least the last few thousand years, has become incrementally more secular and inclusive in small steps.

it's like an indeterminate determinism that chaotically leads everything a seemingly determined direction, only through the increased disorder of its universal laws program.

And that's also why I can't do a ministry, it should only need to work for me, anyway. But if I had one, it would have a mashed-together crazy message not many could understand.

I am not a minister in the UUA, it is just the "demonination" (in the framework) of my personal ministry ordained by the ULC. Which ANYONE can do. Even you, right now, in 5 minutes, for free.

A full on ministry could be estaished, but I don't want to lead a congregation of my own and there are a crap load of hoops to make it legit.

You need a written vision and mission. A congregation. A legal structure, application to The UUA (if inclined), and patience for bureaucracy.

But I have read almost every major religious text on earth though. Christians are missing out not reading The Avesta, and a UU styled demonination allows me to use anything I want in my self-determined message. Which is Deism-Science based, and has its own answer for the spirit of humility that writes almost ALL religious texts.

I think people are choosing to leave organized religion, but not god(s), and go more towards new age ULC stuff like myself.  And a Pope more in that feared "one world/one love" spirit is more likely to be supported by freak universalists like me.

Thanks for the answers ....just making sure we didn't have to address you as your "Eminence"

A friend of mine did the same thing so he could marry his youngest son.

You could have a following or flock, if you choose to. A lot of lost young and old people out there could use your core logic

The Avesta? I'll look it up...

I've thought about naming it something and writing it all out before. Taking all the abstract comments and putting it together into a nice free WordPress, but it would take endless hours and epitomize my secret possible bipolar or ADD shame. My life is already littered with once important projects left abandoned.

To do my world view would be intense. Hundreds of pages and there's enough of that already. Enough people putting their view into their own lengthy methodology to go around.

You can express your view but when you start spelling it out it's another dogma that begets followers that don't think independently. They agree or disagree with yours.

I'd prefer to keep any religious impact veiled under an artistic license of social commentary posts you dont have to pay attention to or acknowledge as part of a greater worldview. There's a nice unknowable quality to being just some random crazy poster people are not even sure how to address, but enough to demonstrate at least a real person. Plus, it turns preaching into a self-acknowledged social commentary op-ed.

Teacher or preacher, suffice it to say you have an impactful voice and a well-rounded educational understanding that allows you to be entertaining and informative. I have no doubt you'd be a great salesperson, too.

Follow him on X if you want English.

The fact that he spoke Italian and Spanish, but purposely ignored the English which is his first language, IS part of the message.   And yeah ... I don't like that message at all.

New Pope Bashed MAGA, Trump Immigration Policies, Venerated George Floyd
Quote:Past social media posts made by newly-elected Pope Leo XIV show he’s leaned left on social issues and has been critical of Trump admin immigration policies, prompting concerns he’s a compromised globalist pontiff.

Posting as Robert Francis Prevost under the X handle @drprevost, the new Bishop of Rome’s most recent post prior to being elected by a Conclave in Italy Thursday was a retweet dated April 14 criticizing El Salvador President Nayib Bukele and President Donald Trump over El Salvadoran MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

After Trump first took office in 2016, Prevost retweeted a post calling refugee bans “a dark hour of US history.”  Later that day, he retweeted a Catholic News Agency article bashing President Trump’s border wall. In other tweets from 2017, Prevost retweeted a post slamming the President’s “bad hombres” remark and a post espousing support for “DREAMers.”   In fact, the new Pope has been spreading anti-Trump, open border rhetoric as far back as July 2015!  Additionally, Prevost has espoused support for gun control, in Oct. 2017 retweeting Sen. Chris Murphy’s (D-Conn.) call to end “gun violence” following the Las Vegas mass shooting.  The new Vicar of Christ also previously spread the narrative that George Floyd was killed due to a racist altercation.

While Prevost’s social media history shows efforts to espouse traditional Catholic moral teachings, including making several pro-life posts, his progressive anti-Trump, pro-open border views, as well as his history of ignoring Catholic church sex abuse crimes, suggest he’s a compromised pontiff who will likely be used to push globalist propaganda, not unlike his predecessor.
Popoe Leo XIV Looked The Other Way When Confronted with Child Abuse Allegations In His Churches

Quote:The newly-elected Pope Leo XIV is facing accusations of 'looking the other way' when confronted with child sex abuse allegations against a priests in his Chicago and South American churches, it has emerged.

Robert Prevost, who became the first North American pontiff on Thursday, was accused by a survivors' group of failing to act upon allegations of abuse in the U.S. and in Peru - concerns they relayed to the cardinals who selected him.

'Staying silent is a sin. It's not what God wants us to do. Jesus wants us to stop these things, not make a heathy garden for sexual abuse to grow,' Lopez de Casas, a victim of clergy abuse and national vice president of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), told DailyMail.com.
Well this selection may not have fulfilled Saint Malachy's Prophecy, but it has fulfilled my own little prophecy that this thread would end up here...

In important news, the Pope's brother has clarified that he was not a Cubs fan, as the leftist fakenews turncoat media has reported, but in fact always cheered for the White Sox...

Do you really think that a conservative pope would revolutionize the Church? That it's enough to hate homosexuals to stop corruption and depravity among clergy? Vatican has always been corrupted. We should thank God they no longer hold Borgia styled orgies there.

To an average believer, the choice of the pope isn't all that important. I mean I haven't noticed any radical changes in the Church during conservative Benedict or liberal Francis. The hierarchy here blocked all the liberal reforms introduced by the pope Francis. Likewise, the cardinals blocked any substantial reforms that Benedict wanted to introduce. Perhaps, this is why he resigned. The pope no longer seems to have any considerable power.

On the other hand, our modern society is preoccupied with pedophilia to the point of pathological obsession.
It became a modern Boogeyman. I don't deny the existence of psychopathic and perverted cuckoos preying on children but the problem is blown out of proportion by the media and its popping-up-like-mushrooms-after-the-rain newly made celebrities who suddenly recall, after 40 or 50 years, that they were molested as children by their local priest, teacher, doctor, parent or whoever. Michelle remembers and gets her five minutes of TV or internet fame thanks to being sexed by the devil. That and a handsome paycheck if lucky enough.
