Suspensions and Closed for Review
#1
First, let me say right up front, I do not wish to be controversial.  I do not want to cause issues.

I had just got around to actually posting at ATS after years of lurking when it disappeared.  I am very pleased to have found this site and I don't want to do anything to put my membership in jeopardy.  I am curious and want to know the rules so as not to break any of them.

I've been reading the thread regarding gun control.  I really have no opinion, at least not one strong enough to share.  I've just been enjoying the very interesting and what I would describe as intelligent, thought provoking and especially well mannered discourse being offered.

Then, one of the participants just quite contributing and I see his status shows SUSPENDED.

This was followed by questions about why this suspension occurred seemingly closing the thread.  A moderator posted CLOSE FOR REVIEW.  I admit, I was one of the posters questioning the suspension.

So, I want to know if I did something wrong by questioning a suspension.  What kinds of things can get one suspended?  And, what conditions lead to a thread being closed?

To whomever responds, thank you very much for your time.  I hope I haven't worn out my welcome, so to speak.
Just a guy trying to get by

Discussing other members' statuses is generally frowned upon.

For general guidelines, please read the T&C.

Thanks

As an addition, DI Staff do not discuss mod actions with anyone other than the person involved.
This is a privacy issue.

Answered. My inbox is open to him though if he wants to talk. It's not unresolvable, but it's not up for public discussion either.
