What would you do if ...
#11
Good and bad would still be a thing.

The religious fundamentalists probably wouldn't accept it.

I don't think the Pope would be resigning.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

I would question if the information provider was legit or running a mind game, for how would they know or be able to prove or verify such claims.

Then continue to be me as always and try to follow the Golden Rule.

Some of  you may already think that way.   But I'm asking those that believe in 'something' and 'a higher reason for us being here' .    What would you do if it was proven that we are an accident and nothing really matters?

Would you change how you live?   No cosmic rewards and no cosmic punishments.   Would you despair?   Would you continue on and try to make this life as 'good' as you can even if it doesn't mean anything?   Would 'good' and 'bad' even exist anymore?  Would you be angry?   Who would you be angry at if God didn't exist?

What would you think and how would you act if it all turned out to be bunk?

Something is structuring this, and it is much bigger than just the earth we are talking about.  Some sort of collective consciousness that people refer to as god most likely exists, with a local version of it...a tiny part of god...comprised of the collective consciousness of this planet.  Now our local part is not just comprised of humans, every living thing is a part of it in my thoughts.  but it is just one tiny particle of the whole god, no where even close to the power of the collective consiousness of everything that exists.  Our milky way is very tiny compared to the whole picture.

I was brought up to believe in being good and honest and cherish integrety.  I would not change at all if I found out that there was no god, because many of the teachings of Christianity are good for society and even though there are many bad people out there, it does not mean I have to be like them....so nothing would change.

If this happened, chaos would probably erupt in society, because people would have no hope of going to a better place if they were good.  Humans can be very evil, more evil than most other species combined in their destruction of this Eden we call earth.  an Eden we are destroying because of our greed and desires...we have no other place to go if this environment is destroyed by our ignorance.  I am not a believer in this climate change stuff except that we should not be flying all over the place or treating ourselves to things we do not need.  We have become spoiled rotten as a species....especially in the more developed countries.

Adam and eve were kicked out of the garden of Eden because they probably would have destroyed it to plant what they wanted instead of being satisfied with their needs.  Relate this to life here in America these days, most of the environmental damage to the world is being caused by wants, not needs.  Make things to last a long time, like a cast iron frying pan that can provide for many generations and do not waste food or throw something out because it is a little worn, learn to fix things instead of buying new stuff to replace it.  Right now, they are not even making parts for lots of things they make....we cannot even fix something when a little part goes bad, the businesses and the government want us to buy new things, it is a positive effect for the GNP statistics.

It is a pretty amazing accident to make it this far. To have the biological capability we do have compared to the rest of life that we do know about is very cool. Capabilities far advanced from that the rest of the animal kingdom. I am here because my parents had sex.

I don't know what kind of spiritual bureaucracy exists on the other side, if any. With a lot of reports around Near Death Experiences and ghost stories, good chance there is more to the puzzle of life than what we currently comprehend.

If you think nothing matters, try breaking one of your bones. It does provide a quick reality check on what is important along with an important lesson to avoid that again.

On the big picture, it has taken a lot of effort from all our our ancestors to make it this far in life. Lot of hard stories and struggles. There has been a lot of improvements with many problems remaining over this time. No one person is going to fix it all, but if we all do our part, value what we do have and fix what we can, then hopefully the universe will remember us in a way that we can rest in peace.

With the way science and technology is going, perhaps a clearer picture of just what exactly God is about will emerge one day. Until then, look for something you can appreciate in this world.
