In Munich, AOC tried to show her political chops by just being there.
When asked the question, "on whether the U.S. should commit troops to defending Taiwan if China were to invade"
She replied (and I'm paraphrasing) "Lerpty derpty Kamala word-salad"
Since none of us are seasoned politicians, and we are obviously too stupid to provide an answer, I'd still like to hear it.
At some point, I will also give my answer, but then again, I'm not a communist.

Okay then.
My answer would be that American policies are not and should not be reactive.
Therefor the actual question was wrong to begin with because it implied a reactive stance to Chana aggression.
Our policy should be proactive to prevent China from even making the move to begin with.

Taiwan.
Tough one.
It's a national security issue with what they make.
I'd be willing to send troops.
But not alone.
The rest of the world would have to as well.
Because China would win a war against just the USA.
It's a simple numbers game ... they have MUCH MORE.
And afterwards, Taiwan would owe us.
They'd have to agree to give us their products at a much reduced price.

With our one China policy for the last 50+ years, why would we concern ourselves at all.
Besides, The chip plant in Arizona was built for this scenario.

But, do we have the raw materials to keep up ?
I think that's why Trump is looking for others sources like Greenland.
Quote:China dominates the raw material supply chain for computer chips, controlling 98% of the world's refined gallium and 68% of germanium, which are critical for semiconductor production. Furthermore, China accounts for 53% of global silicon metal production, making it a vital supplier for wafers, while also producing 38% of global silicon carbide.

Given the conditions on the ground in Greenland, getting at those raw materials might be very challenging, to say the least.
