What is your afterlife experience - NDE, ghosts, etc??
#1
What is your afterlife experience?
Have you had a NDE (near death experience)?
Know someone personally who has had one?
Have you had an OBE (out of body experience)?
Have you had encounters with ghosts?
How did these things shape your view of the afterlife?

I personally know two people who had near death experiences and they were vastly different from each other.   One fella died for a few minutes and experienced nothing.  Not even nothing ... he said it was like blinking and he didn't exist at all while dead.   While the other fella I knew who had one said that he was in a lot of pain from the heart attack that killed him, then suddenly he knew he was dead and he felt wonderful.  He didn't see anything or experience anything other than knowing he was dead and that he felt great.  He got ticked at the doctors when they brought him back.

I've experienced ghosts of the dead ... or they were demons pretending to be the dead.   I've also seen shadowpeople in the battlefield at Gettysburg.   That doesn't necessarily mean they were dead people ... they could have been demons pretending or they could have been replays in that place of the soldiers fighting and/or dying, extreme event imprinted karmically there.

I've had encounters with both good angels and bad demons.   But that isn't an afterlife encounter.   Angels and demons can exist without there being a human afterlife.

I had recurring dreams as a child about being blown up by bombs from an airplane, this was in England or Europe like Germany.   And I was always very scared of the fire siren in town that sounded like an air raid siren.   So I wonder if I was in World War II England or Germany as a child and died during an air raid in world war II.

I don't know what to think of the afterlife.   I know what is taught and what the religion I mostly believe says ... that you die and get judged and go to heaven, hell or purgatory (and being a ghost can be purgatory).   But when you listen to the vastly different things that happen during near death experiences, and you see the reality of ghosts stuck here for some reason ... kinda makes you wonder what really happens when you die.

My Mother had an NDE where she passed on the operating table and after experiencing some weird and wonderful things she was told that she had to come back, she wasn’t finished yet… (I have told her story in another thread).

My wife had an experience with a 5 y/o boy who was terrified to sleep in the dark (she is a psychologist) and when she asked him to elaborate he would only speak to her alone. When she allowed that he said that he didn’t want to freak out his parents, because they didn’t believe him when he told them that he died in a mine underground, in the dark in his previous life. It’s quite a story and he was able to track down his children from the previous life and learn how they survived without him (via the internet, not physically).

So, I believe. But I have never had any personal experiences with any Ghosts or NDE, etc.

One time, quite by accident, I experimented with Inedia, aka breatharian diet of air alone.

On the sixth day I was near death, near as in minutes away rather than feet away.

My near death experience (NDE) of out of body (OOB) was like this:

I was lying dying on my bed when I sensed something. I opened my eyes to see a vaporous shape (the typical ghost type image like in movies, white translucent) rising from my solar plexus region. It didn't hover over me looking at me like typical stories go, but rather faced South and floated away through the wall.

It was then that I decided that death would interfere with my desire to ask someone a question or two. So I rolled out of bed and crawled into the bathroom, which was the closest source of water. I couldn't stand yet so I cupped my hand and dipped into the toilet. And I'm still alive to type this out.

[ note: I'm not absolutely sure about the toilet dipping. I don't really remember but it does add a bit of dramatic flair to the story, don't you think? ]

Not ghosts per say, but poltergeist activity definitely (sight, sound, and physical objects moving)

The NDOOBE: I would say led me to conclude that souls exist as metaphysical speculation alone. No soul needed to live. So life, to me, is a one then done proposition. As far as Americans go, that places me in the 17% minority.

The poltergeist stuff is a bit of a headscratcher though. Could be ... well, ... I'm not prepared to theorize yet.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama

Posted this elsewhere the year my Dad passed, I had lived there helping throughout his chemotherapy sessions for 19 months and stayed with Mom afterwards for a couple of years... still puzzles me

Quote:

I got up to use the bathroom again early one morning around 3:30. Dads office is right across from the bathroom, as walked down the hall to the bathroom I could smell clearly cigarette smoke like it used to smell when he would be on the phone talking to someone puffing on his Parliment 100s . Dad hasn't been in the the house since late March, 4-5 months and even then he wasn't smoking. The office has been cleaned and there hasn't been anybody smoking in there. I don't smoke and neither does my Mom. I literally walked passed the bathroom into the office to see what the hell was going on. Out of all the happenings this one has less options for a rational explanation. I mean if it residual why is it gone in the next day. Yet so heavy at 3:30 in the morning. LOL are there paranormal smells , I don't know but I'm going to look it up. If you got any input it would be greatly appreciated,or questions let me know. We always thought if anybody could bridge that gap it would be Dad.

No. Only blacked out.
Quote:Know someone personally who has had one?

Yes... he died on the table for 4 minutes when blacked out on alcohol and benzodiazapines. Obliviously remembered nothing.
Quote:Have you had an OBE (out of body experience)?

Hell yes. But it was after I took ketamine and MDMA at a rave, and went into a sleep paralysis state while lying down after.  I was still lucid enough to realize what was happening. The lifting out of my body part happened spontaneously.

Quote:Have you had encounters with ghosts?

I've encountered sudden bursts of kinetic energy imparted into stationary objects, but never had enough evidence to confirm what it was.  Things flew off shelves randomly. My working theory was between "goverment remote viewers" and "unintentional spontaneous cause creation and/or oblivious telekinesis."

I really couldn't interpret it as ghosts. It was a yet to be discovered causality thing.

It shaped my view of this life more than anything after.

But I'm not normal, most people view things flying off shelves as ghost encounters. I put EVP apps on my phone to taunt radio noise and tell them to speak more clearly.  Or in english... because I am so close to Mexico the EVP program picks up a lot of "spanish speaking ghosts."

If I was normal I would probably believe I had an encounter with the spirit world and affirm there is at least an unseen realm that interacts with ours.

me?
NDE.   If I saw vision or dream or imagined a figure I visualized as Death flying and descending towards me along with others and my south facing bedroom wall starting shaking as they got close and over half my life flashed through my head before I prayed and discovered all that coincided with a tornado going right over the house cutting down large trees at the roof line but our house and my life were spared, does that count?

ghosts?   I once had a very close friendly encounter with a mostly invisible person or entity.   No idea who or what I was interacting with.  Could have been alien, interdimensional person or a ghost with the ability to make me see a shimmer in the air around whomever.  Just imagine Predator cloaked point blank and you see distortions in the air.

Another time I thought I saw an image of a woman wearing 1800’s clothes.  I just woke up and what I saw startled me but only saw her a fraction of a second.  Thought maybe it could have been a dream image that carried over upon waking.   I forgot about it until less than 2 weeks later the local paper had an article about a female ghost who haunted buildings downtown.  I had recently visited and wondered if a ghost could follow me.  I only saw her one time though.

I have experienced a ghost (or demon) following me home.
So at least some can relocate from where ever they are haunting.

I don't talk about this incident nor this subject much, which should tell you something.

Around 1978, at 13 I was attached to my mothers dad, Grandpa Clark. It was mutual, as he lost his son in WW2 KiA.

So he fell ill, and was probably in worse shape than I was being told. That is, I didn't expect him to die, or anything.

Since he was in the hospital about 2 miles away, I stayed over in his house with the other family members.

The next morning, mom opened the door and said, Grandpa is dead. I replied, I know, he visited me.

Being the youngest, nobody really wanted to hear my story at breakfast, but I told it anyway.

He was just "there" like Yoda and said, I'm with Grandma now, everything is alright. I think I pictured her in the hallway, or nearby. He said (Im holding back a tear)  I have to tell you something, Grandma's wedding ring is in the "china chest". (downstairs, one room over, I could picture it from above)

God forbid I ever touched that china chest, in the dining room I wasnt' even allowed to go into. nfw anyone one slipped and told me anything about it either. Apparently it had been lost for years, and likely foul play by paramedics who took her away after a heart attack was suspected, I suppose, but I diverge. It was just an unresolved issue I was totally unaware of....but Grandpa Clark suddenly had this new info to pass along!!!

Everyone blew me off and went about the grim process that followed. About two weeks later, my cousins grabbed me and announced they found her ring inbetween two tea cups in the cub bard!

Usually not very quick to quip, I barked out, you wouldn't be messing with me, right??!?! Toni's face froze over as she said, we would never mess with you. (like I'm suddenly Damian)

That's it, 100% crazy true story with the enhanced physical manifestation and spectors.

I can't explain it. We're not some religious family, and I am certainly not. It does make me wonder though. It was real and nobody can take that away.

See his Scottish Rite ring? I'm told he was 33rd, by people who don't even know what that is.

I'm glad my "friends" are here right now to share this.  [Image: ats2492_crybaby2.gif]
