Immediately below each avatar is a colored line. Most of the time the line appears to be static with a portion of the line red and a portion green. Just this morning I noticed this same line can sometimes appear dynamic, like it's moving, and it has several colors when it does this.
What does the difference between these lines mean? It must mean something because it's different for different people, so I'm wondering what the significance of it is?
Thanks!
P.S. I know, I know, I ask a lot of questions, but I like to know how stuff works and why things behave the way they do.

It appears to be a meter representing your reputation score. When it reaches 100 it becomes dynamic.
There may be more to it though, not sure of specifics.

As Myke says, it's a reputation indicator... more reps increases the green bar. I don't know what the max reputation ceiling is and what happens past that milestone.
The animated rainbow ones are for Admin/Staff.
Veterans appear to have a fixed purple line with no reps levels.
The only quirks I've seen so far are with a few 'Members' and 'VIP', that have a fixed purple line or fixed green line and no reputation level indicator, even though they all have some reps with a numeric value.

Thanks Myke and Encia,
I figured it was related to reputation, but some of the other differences made me wonder if there was also another meaning.
When I saw the dynamic one I was kind of secretly hoping that meant the member in question was actively replying to a post (like how some 'chats' work, discord etc.) I see there is an 'online' / 'offline' indicator, but that only says so much.
Thanks.

I want one that goes backwards and forwards and then flashes quickly.

I've wondered about this too. At first I thought maybe it was based on a formula, and then I thought that maybe the admins/staff were changing them to purple.
I believe I saw one "veteran" that did have a purple banner but no purple meter, but they haven't posted for a while so I can't do a comparison - so thinking it's not "veteran" status alone that does it.
I did notice that mine went solid green at around 180 posts, same as OP, and then went purple soon after that.
Conclusion: I'm guessing that the FCD's meter will go purple at 200 posts.

Yes, CCoburn, you could be right that it's considering various factors with a formula of some kind... a bit like the karma score on ATS.
It doesn't appear to be completely relative to just post count, status, points or reputation, but perhaps, a combination of all four. I remember TSK changed the points system early on in the development of the forum and I don't remember the progress meter being present at that time.

If it is based on a formula of some kind and all other requirements are satisfied, I suppose maybe that the post count could act as a final trigger.

On a kind of related note. After some quick research, "veteran" status appears to be time-driven factor more than any other I can observe. All 'veteran' members have join dates in 2023, and post and/or thread count do not seem to be influencing this. There are numerous members with more posts and more threads who still have 'member' status.
"Fighter" and "writer" status appear to be awards, so these are likely moderator driven. 'Mod' and 'Super Mod' as well as 'Admin' are all fairly self-explanatory. Then there appears to be some other badges which are one-offs, things like 'Disc' (Encia) and 'Just Lysergic' (Lysergic) which look to be custom badges (maybe on request?). Lastly, the 'VIP' (Myke) badge which I can only assume is also a special award status.
Bottom line - It looks like the color of the progress bar is unrelated to any badge/status, except for maybe 'moderator' when the progress bar goes dynamic.

I believe Veteran status is just an acknowledgment/recognition of established long-time members of ATS when they joined DI in the first few weeks.
My Disc status was awarded to me for my past assistance on ATS. However, it's not clear what it means or what, if any, privileges it affords me.
