USA just sunk a drug boat from Venezuela

Likely running the drugs and/or cash along the coast to Columbia.
Quicker and safer transport than moving it overland...at least until Trump decided to turn it all into flaming flotsam.

BTW...wasn't 'Flaming Flotsam' also the name of your boy band?

It was my stripper name.

I remember Granada! 24/7 wall to wall blaring TV of the danger to U.S. students. All that we heard.
Quote:Reagan stated that he felt compelled to act due to "concerns over the 600 U.S. medical students on the island" and fears of a repeat of the Iran hostage crisis, which ended less than three years earlier.

Future U.S. Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger, who was then serving as Reagan's Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, later admitted that the prime motivation for the intervention was to "get rid" of the coup leader Hudson Austin, and that the students were a pretext.

Students: "Yeah, we first heard that we were in danger was when the U.S. military showed up to evacuate us. Frankly, first time we saw any body carrying rifles."

***** Correction ********

1983 was not like now. There was no 24/7. Only about 18 minutes of my life were taken up with Granada.

Sorry, I let the present seep into my past and corrupt my memory.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama

And i don't believe drug dealing, deplorable as it is, constitutes a capital offence.

But that's a deflection away from the fact that the boat could not possibly reach the U.S.A.

Or was carrying the fuel to get there, so...

As had been said before, to other members who have a problem with drug smuggling terrorists being killed, a dead terrorist does not have the ability to do it again....

You do realize that Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are US Territories, right?

How do you know how much fuel they were carrying? A quad outboard boat, such as the one they were using, usually will have quite the large fuel tank to accommodate for the 4 motors all pulling from the same source. But, even if they only had enough fuel to go 300 miles, which is more than halfway to the aforementioned territories, did you ever think there could be another boat to go the other half? Or multiple boats once they hit the midway point to slit and go to many places?

Take out the little boats and all of a sudden, you won't get too many volunteers to move the drugs.

The US didn't do the normal expected thing.

They went to the drug runners and bitch-slapped them.

Finally.

Someone had the balls to do what needed to be done.
While the news is all over the destruction of Venezuelan boat they just rolled up a BIG international drug ring working out of Canada . Chinese, Vietnamese, Mexican, New Zealand, Turkey, Australia, and even parts of the African net work was dismantled .
Quote:In this hard-hitting exposé, we reveal how the DEA, during the Trump administration, dismantled a ruthless Canadian drug kingpin with direct connections to El Chapo’s inner circle. This crime boss wasn’t merely pushing narcotics across the border—he was a key player within one of the most dominant cartel empires on the planet. From international smuggling routes to covert partnerships with the Sinaloa cartel, this takedown stands as one of the most significant drug busts in recent history. Discover how the mission was executed, what it signifies for the global cartel underworld, and the ways in which the Trump-era DEA aggressively targeted transnational drug syndicates.

Venezuela would be going bugshit if they were anything but what they were.

For a more accurate perspective on what the Venezuelan government is saying

The Venezuela AG seems to think it's a fake...

"Saab questioned the veracity of the events, asserting that the attack "did not occur." The prosecutor also criticized the lack of details about the alleged event and the images released by US President Donald Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social, which he described as an "animated video."

The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, described the incident as a fabrication by US authorities.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communications, Freddy Ñáñez, affirmed that the video of the alleged attack was created using artificial intelligence."

Quote:The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, strongly denied an alleged US attack on a vessel in the Caribbean Sea, calling the incident an "extremely crude" and "unacceptable" operation seeking to generate instability in the country.

In his recent statements, Saab questioned the veracity of the events, asserting that the attack "did not occur." The prosecutor also criticized the lack of details about the alleged event and the images released by US President Donald Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social, which he described as an "animated video."

Likewise, other Venezuelan authorities have spoken out on the matter and, in this context, have also rejected the version of the attack.

The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, described the incident as a fabrication by US authorities.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communications, Freddy Ñáñez, affirmed that the video of the alleged attack was created using artificial intelligence.

According to the Trump Administration video, 11 people, alleged members of the now-dismantled criminal gang El Tren de Aragua, died in the attack.

Prosecutor Saab also emphasized that, even in legitimate operations against organized crime, there are international protocols and treaties that must be respected. He emphasized that the way the alleged attack was presented ignores these norms.
