"The United States intends to withdraw from the WHO. The Presidential Letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations signed on January 20, 2021, that retracted the United States’ July 6, 2020, notification of withdrawal is revoked," Trump's order declares.

Biden reversed the original withdrawal year ago... this is the latest part of the tug of war.... submit to 'belong' to the 'august' body of members... or stand sovereign without their political shenanigans...

Trump's order calls for the Secretary of State and director of the Office of Management and Budget to "pause the future transfer of any United States Government funds, support, or resources to the WHO;" "recall and reassign United States Government personnel or contractors working in any capacity with the WHO;" as well as "identify credible and transparent United States and international partners to assume necessary activities previously undertaken by the WHO."

Seems pretty direct.... can't wait for the marketing blowback...  You know it's what they do....

It only shows how short sighted and irresponsible he is. WHO put an end to smallpox and polio outbreaks. It dealt with Ebola, tuberculosis and HIV. Containing diseases in Africa protects the whole world as people travel around. That move weakens not only WHO but will bar the US from the intelligence coming from other countries.

Most of the WHO's accolades and claims to fame are in large part a benefit of writing one's own press releases.

The WHO's achievements are a function of individuals collaborating... not the "steering committee" of talking heads.

The WHO is a stereotypical body of unelected technocrats and elites who became celebrities.  
(And not only is the WHO's history not pristine, but its culture is worthy of exposition)...

Just ask around... the WHO are not those heroic personages who deserve the credit for their work during health crises of past generations.

The Isolationist (protectionist) plan he has concocted says there's going to be a lot of this. Like too much to keep up with. WHO, NATO, DEFINITELY the Paris Climate Accord, maybe his own USMCA?

Definitely going to try to move away from international trade. Tariffs. The goal is to make others pay, but really force our own industry to de-outsource, especially from China. If it becomes too expensive to import cheaper products manufactured in Mexico, you'll just have to go back to paying American labor and buying Pennsylvania steel.

As a country we now have elected leadership that believes America can do it all by its lonesome if not burdened by global considerations. The belief is many other countries abuse our generosity and aid on issues not our problem, while sending criminals to invade our country and rape and kill our citizens.

It seems to operate on the belief globalism is a road to Satan's dominion that wants you to eat tofu, insects, abort infants, make kids gay, and force everyone to drive tiny efficient electric cars. It is a call for a throwback governance that, among other things, believes "climate change" is a lie that wants to control your way of life with a made up problem, while simultaneously brainwashing you with progressive ideology that accepts changing the way things are.

This is no longer realm of conspiracy since Trump and his appointed administration largely signs on to these beliefs. His policies reflect our new global position is somewhere along these lines. Maybe not to my exaggerated description, but along those lines.

It appears he is giving his supporters (not all American people because 14 million people did not show up to vote this time around) what they want, except lower grocery/gas prices, which is too difficult to do, apparently. It appears he doesn't even have a concept of a plan to tackle this issue.

You all had better hope the leaders chosen to protect society against old and new emerging diseases are ahead of the curve or the latest conspiracy, scientifically speaking. Anyone here bother to check the credentials of those chosen to lead your health agencies? What is your new administration doing about avian influenza (H5N1) outbreak which is infecting dairy cows and has since moved on to humans?

It may only work out for him because he keeps upping your national debt, now he wants to raise the ceiling because he needs money available to throw at any problem that comes up from his bad decisions. Nothing will change this term. How did he say he will pay down or off the debt again?
