"The United States intends to withdraw from the WHO. The Presidential Letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations signed on January 20, 2021, that retracted the United States’ July 6, 2020, notification of withdrawal is revoked," Trump's order declares.

Biden reversed the original withdrawal year ago... this is the latest part of the tug of war.... submit to 'belong' to the 'august' body of members... or stand sovereign without their political shenanigans...

Trump's order calls for the Secretary of State and director of the Office of Management and Budget to "pause the future transfer of any United States Government funds, support, or resources to the WHO;" "recall and reassign United States Government personnel or contractors working in any capacity with the WHO;" as well as "identify credible and transparent United States and international partners to assume necessary activities previously undertaken by the WHO."

Seems pretty direct.... can't wait for the marketing blowback...  You know it's what they do....

The WHO was set up to coordinate efforts to aid health in third world countries.

It was set up by the US, and run by the US.

It never controlled the US, the US controlled it.

Now one more arm of US power over other countries has been removed.

It only shows how short sighted and irresponsible he is. WHO put an end to smallpox and polio outbreaks. It dealt with Ebola, tuberculosis and HIV. Containing diseases in Africa protects the whole world as people travel around. That move weakens not only WHO but will bar the US from the intelligence coming from other countries.

The WHO is not a person. 

Most of the WHO's accolades and claims to fame are in large part a benefit of writing one's own press releases.

The WHO's achievements are a function of individuals collaborating... not the "steering committee" of talking heads.

The WHO is a stereotypical body of unelected technocrats and elites who became celebrities.  
(And not only is the WHO's history not pristine, but its culture is worthy of exposition)...

Just ask around... the WHO are not those heroic personages who deserve the credit for their work during health crises of past generations.

These are strictly political appointees... (many corporate middlemen)
