UFOs And Water.
#1
There's a great 'cult classic' book here from researcher Ivan T. Sanderson observing how 'UFOs seem inextricably connected with water' (whether entering it; emerging from it or otherwise interacting with it) and there have been some really strange global reports over the years of unknown objects appearing to 'collect' it.

Lots of Carl Feindt's great research dealing with archival 'WaterUFO' reports has now been removed from his website but did see the page below was still up and there are also book excerpts on this page.

Quote:This type of case involves a UFO hovering over water. The witness describes a column of fog, mist, haze or water reaching from the surface to the object. The terminology generally used in the description is “sucking up water”. This column, I believe, is caused by the rotation of a field in a vertical plane that encompasses of the UFO..

Physical Influences of a UFO on Water

Whatever's going on there are some relevant cases posted below and if anyone knows of any others (or has any ideas) then please post.

The first one involves many separately located townsfolk in Gosford, Australia witnessing a UFO hovering over a nearby lake which shone light beams down onto the surface of the water causing it to bubble and 'turn to steam' - apparently reports flooded in to the Gosford police and Sergeant Bob Wenning stated 'callers were genuinely frightened'.

• The Gosford Incident, Australia - December 30th/31st 1995:

Quote:Excerpt from Australian Police reporting website:

On Saturday evening December 30 1995, all phones rang hot at Gosford Police Station as motorists called on their mobile phones to report a large craft hovering above Mooney-Mooney Bridge.

Later, dozens of calls flooded in from distressed locals at home.

Station Sergeant Bob Wenning states, “People were woken by an intense humming noise. They were genuinely frightened when they saw a huge cylindrical object hovering over the water. It had a polished, ball-like bottom, and as it hovered over the lake, its lights shone down into the water, apparently turning it in to steam”. Callers also reported a brilliant light which “turned night into day”, shining through their bedroom windows.

Patrol cars were sent out to investigate, but whenever police officers came to within 50 meters of it, or car headlights got close, the craft would turn off its own lights and shoot up skywards, out of sight. One police officer reported that it flew away “as if you had a torch beam and whipped it around.”

Seasonal parties, previously well behaved, suddenly erupted into antisocial behaviour. Residents reported their animals cowered and hid, and many dogs howled for no apparent reason. Car patrols were dispatched from one spot to another as the object moved back and forth over the area. All callers gave the same account of a saucer-shaped craft, 20 to 30 meters across, surrounded by bright white light, and with intense shafts of light that penetrated the foaming water below, or when away from the water, once the shafts of white light were off, underneath was a red glow or flashing red-orange lights.

The event largely died out around dawn at 5am, after Police units had been dispatched on over 35 calls, one officer relating that the evening reminded him of a night of “Moon Madness”, that phenomenon known to police whereby civil unrest increases during the full moon.

If anyone wants to delve further into this case then there's a great presentation below by investigator Moira McGhee who uncovered lots more strange UFO activity from around the same time and area.

• Two Scientists report UFO taking on water British Columbia.

See 10:40

Quote:On the sunny July morning in 1965 that John Hembling, geologist and exploration manager for a mining company, and a companion geologist stepped from a helicopter atop a mountain ridge in north-central British Columbia they expected it would be another routine day of reconnaissance and survey.

"It was about 10 o'clock and we had just set up our equipment after the helicopter left," Hembllng told us, "when we saw a silvery object, shining in the sun, appear over a small ridge below us. It had a flattened-out look and our first reaction was that it was some kind of delta-wing aircraft. We soon realized it was not."

Facing west away from the sun, with the object below them about half a mile away, they had a clear view of what was happening.

"The object was about 50 ft. in diameter," he said. "On top of its dome there was a little knob, and around the base of the dome there were circular markings. They might have been some kind of riveting, or even windows. They were a bit too small to tell.

"Below these, on the face of the disc itself, there were larger rectangular markings which could have been glass or metallic. Our impression was that they were windows. As far as we could see, there were three of them."

As the two men watched in astonishment, the object moved slowly across the ridge until it was above a small glacial lake, barely more than a pond. Hovering there an instant, it then descended to less than 50ft. above the water. Again it hovered and, to the men's further amazement, lowered a pipe-like instrument from its underside into the water. "At first we thought it was something like a rope-ladder," Hembling said, "but it didn't just drop down. It came out smoothly and steadily as if under mechanical control."

During this procedure the observers were conscious of a humming sound from the object "like a quiet electric motor." With its appendage in the lake, the disc then rotated slowly like a water-borne top until its "windows" faced the two men. “We had a distinct feeling It knew we were there," Hembling said.

After remaining in that position for about eight minutes---as the men judged it--the object withdrew its "pipe" as carefully as it had lowered it.

"It climbed slowly, then all of a sudden it was off," Hembling said. "It shot over the ridge, made a sharp turn without skidding and was out of sight in about 20 seconds. We figured it had gone 20 or 25 miles by the time it disappeared." That would give it a speed of at least 3,600 m.p.h.

• UFO Witnessed taking on water - South Coast of Hokkaido, Japan, 1973.

Quote:The incident took place in July 1973 and at the time, the witness, whom we shall call Masaki Kudou, does not recall the exact date. Kudou, who was a sophomore at a University in the Kanto District, was employed during the summer as a night watchman at a lumber yard in a small industrial town on the south coast of Hokkaido. After making his rounds of the lumberyard, he returned in his car to his parking place, switched on the car radio, lit a cigarette and was looking up at the clear night sky through the driver's window, when a streak of light ran across the sky.

It looked to be the "size of a baseball" and orange in color. Kudou admits that he was quite frightened, but he did watch the light which moved to and fro in all directions.Suddenly, Kudou said, the light began a spiraling descent and when it was down to an altitude just above the dome of a cement factory in the distance, it began to send out what appeared to be intermittent green light rays in one direction which he calculated to be north.

At this point, Kudou noted, the whole episode seemed to be "science-fiction-like" and he was hoping that what he was watching would prove to be a dream or his imagination. After it had stopped its' "signaling", the object or light began to descend over the waters of the bay; describing a large arc which was executed with startling speed. Because the bay waters were within his range of vision, Kudou was able to observe what transpired from that time on.

He said the light descended to an altitude of about 20 meters (75 feet) above the surface, of the water and stopped, and then from the underside of the light came what appeared to be a glass-like transparent tube and when the leading edge of the tube touched the surface of the water, that part of the tube began to glow and appeared to be sucking up the bay water.

Quote:VIEGUES - Amidst the mysteries of a U.S. Naval base in Puerto Rico are strange reports of UFO and alien activity. Puerto Rican Ufologist Jorge Martin interviewed Angel Encarnacion, a Vieques fisherman, who said that "One night, while fishing out at sea south of the Navy's shooting range, and east of Vieques, we saw in the distance a really big and shining light. Getting closer, we saw that it a huge round saucer object with lots of lights turning on and off all around the ship." "On the bottom middle there was a really big green light, aimed at the ocean's surface," said Encarnacion. "It wasn't more than 100 feet above the ocean. What shocked me most was seeing the object absorb water from the ocean. You could actually see a big volume of water rising and entering the object. You could not see any fish or anything else in the water going up." Throughout the operation, he said, there was no sound. He and his crew saw strange activity on another night, "a shiny green light rose from the bottom of the ocean," and suddenly disappeared as they heard "the sound of water falling into the ocean nearby," but with no object in sight. They heard--but did not see- something rising in the night sky.

• Newsclippings - Cholla Bay, Mexico.

Quote:The UFO appeared to stop and hover about 200 to 300 feet above the water. Then it turned on a searchlight from the bottom of the vehicle and illuminated a spot on the water which Formiller said appeared to be about ½ mile across. The light extended almost to the shore. Formiller was standing about five feet from water‘s edge.

The searchlight was located within a tube and as the light was raised or lowered the illumination was changed from a sharp spot to a wide flood light on the surface of the water.

And Florida.

Quote:Patrick Thrush pulled his car off the road onto an embankment, and as he started to turn his car around, he said, the high beams from his car showed a silvery reflecting object hovering about 20 feet over the water. A tube extended from the object into the water...the tube, which had been at an angle, straightened up and began retracting into the hovering object.

Domed, disc shaped object report from Clear Fork Reservoir in Ohio in July, 1973 - according to the witnesses it looked like it was 'getting fresh water and flushing out it's tanks' - the UFO then went straight up and shot off at a right angle.

• UFOs & Water Case, Vico, Italy, 07-25-1952.

Quote:A man who was fishing in the Serchio River saw a disk hovering for 10 min. From it hung a hose that plunged into the water. The object was 20 m in diameter, with five propellers in the rear and a dome with something like blades on top.An orange glow could be seen through slits along the deck.

A man wearing a diving helmet looked at the witness through a window, and he received a kind of electric shock as a "green ray" hit him.He looked up with difficulty, in time to see the object fly away toward the east.

Six days later, a stranger with a foreign accent contacted the witness and intimidated him.

• UFOs & Water Case, La Caleta, near Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, 06-24-1977

Quote:(Distrito Nacional)

While returning to Santo Domingo at about one in the morning, Senor A.S. Cruz saw a light over the sea, which descended to water level, and a tube came out of the bottom and took up water. The witness stopped to watch the unusual spectacle. The UFO stopped its suction action and headed toward him.

As it approached, the witness saw two beings in the windows who seemed to be looking at him.

Sr. Cruz tried to drive away, but his car would not start. Then he noticed the presence of another identical UFO.

Behind the two objects was "a pair of thick black tubes or cylinders that were joined together." Suddenly, and in complete silence, the UFOs were sucked up by the tubes, which immediately started moving, and then disappeared before the witness's eyes.

At this time Sr. Cruz's extremities were "asleep."

• Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Ceará, Brazil, July 17th, 1992.

Quote:The other vacuum case took place over the Atlantic Ocean around six-thirty at night on July 17, 1992. Three shrimp fishermen in a boat were about two miles out to sea off the coast near Iguape, forty-five miles southeast of Fortaleza in Ceará. It was dark and the men saw a bright light approaching them on the horizon.

"It was so low they thought it was a ship that was going to collide with them," said investigator Reginaldo Athayde, citing a report submitted by Colonel Liberato Andrade, who interviewed the fishermen.

They pulled their sail' down to slow their boat to avoid a collision, but when the ship approached their boat they realized it wasn't a ship. It was a UFO with a lot of lights on it. It was sucking water up into it and passed slowly within twenty meters of the boat, but the fishermen don't think the UFO saw them. It just went by them about six meters above the water, sucking up a column of water almost as wide as the UFO. The water didn't fall back into the ocean. The UFO went past them and disappeared in the distance.”

Colonel Andrade may have seen the UFO himself. He reported that the same evening he and three other people saw a lighted object pass through the sky just off the coast near Andrade's house on the Iguape beach.

• UFOs & Water Case, Bridge to Mendonca, Lima, Peru, 02-13-1979

Quote:At about 17:45 in the afternoon on this clear day, their attention was urgently drawn to a strange phenomenon taking place. A huge circular disc-shaped flying object of some 30 meters (nearly 100 feet) diameter approached and flew over the group at only some 300 meters above them.

Following that, the tremendous aerial object took up a position very near and hovered there, suspended in the sky right over the river where they were fishing. At this point it was only some 700 meters away. The crew watched in amazement.

All the observers could clearly see that the base of the flying disc was circular and flat with a small circular depression in the central part. The area around this concavity, at its periphery, was divided by radiating lines or segments, similar to the spokes of a cartwheel.

In each of these segmented parts they could see an opening "like a ventilator". The superstructure on top looked like a large low cupola above the disc rim, flattened on top, with a second smaller cupola above that, and in the same way still, a third smaller, higher domed cupola on top of all. On the sides of the large rim, at the base, they could see dual recessed openings illuminated by some kind of fluorescent light.

The huge flying disc executed gentle, silent movements in all directions and occasionally discharged some fumes or gas from vents.About one hour later the huge ship was still there hovering stationary, a little to the south as the whole rim rotated slowly when suddenly, from the base, near the center, three luminous "tubes" of "blue neon light" were projected, like cylinders extended straight down from the ship to the surface of the river.

They seemed to be transparent and were rotating, and looked like they were either discharging something into, or were drawing something from, the water. After several minutes the "cylinders" were withdrawn from the water into the object, one at a time.

A moment later the recessed opening at the left, on the rim, suddenly discharged a luminous beam, like electrical sparks, in the direction of the water. When the beam of sparks touched the water it became violently agitated in that local area. A few seconds later this ray of light disappeared and the recessed opening on the right side discharged another ray, similar to the one on the left, and repeated the same phenomenon of disturbing the water.

The second ray was stopped and the two recessed openings closed and disappeared completely, as though they had never existed.

The huge object began to take on a blue luminescence, changing gradually to red and becoming more intense offering the observers a fabulous spectacular of light and color. In an instant the huge 100-foot disc-shaped craft projected itself straight up at incredible velocity and with little or no sound! The whole episode lasted one hour and twenty minutes. As he narrated this account to Professor Ney, Engineer Valdemir displayed considerable emotion. His story was confirmed by the other four men.

Another very strange one from South Germany:

• UFOs & Water Case, Württemberg, South Germany - April 9th, 1970.

Quote:..I was stopped from doing so, and could only look on and observe. The thing may have rolled along in this way beside me for about 150 metres or so. Then it halted, did a right-angle turn towards the little stream of water, and stopped there. The rotation stopped too.

"What I now observed is beyond my power to comprehend. From the dark centre of the ball there emerged, downwards, something resembling a hose-pipe, which bent itself back and upwards like a 'U' and then writhed about sideways several times (see sketches).

In the bend that was nearest to the ball there appeared a gleam like brightly glowing hot iron. The glowing colour grew darker towards the more distant convolutions, and was only visible on the outward facing sides of each convolution of the hosepipe.

"The hosepipe started wriggling about like a worm, extended itself, and went down to the ground. I am convinced that it reached into the water. The 'worm' remained there for a short while, and then was drawn back in again.

At the same time, the central part of the ball changed colour throughout half of its radius, becoming milky, like water just before it boils. The outer shell of the ball now displayed a bluish tinge, somewhat like the ionized air to be seen around electrical high tension generators.

Then the strange object slowly started its rotating, gliding movement again, passed across the road, quite close to me, to a point a pace or so into the field. And there it vanished, so absolutely silently, and at such lightning speed, straight upwards into the sky, that I was unable to follow it with my eyes.

Liverpool has had its fair share of freaky UFO reports over the years and below is another relevant one (briefly mentioned in the vid) involving a bell shaped object witnessed 'sucking up a column of water' from the river Mersey.

Video

Quote:A woman saw a "bell shaped object" hover over the Mersey near Fiddlers Ferry power station. It appeared to be "sucking up a column of water" from the river. Six other passers-by also witnessed the event. This was the start of a two-month spate of sightings over Halton. Many witnesses saw all manner of unusual objects and lights, ranging from bright star like objects, flying discs and black triangles to huge wedge shaped objects which were described as being larger than two football pitches.

Also another one from Lake Constance in Switzerland.

Quote:Mrs. H was in Kaltenbach near Stein am Rhein across from the palace Hohenklingen. From there was a panoramic view of the lake and its transition into a river. It was around 6 am. The sun rose, and from her position Ms H. saw "a large, strange flying object", a classic flying saucer, which had a wide disk with a cupola above and a curved out cupola like from below.

The disk-like UFO hovered over the river. Then the underside of the UFO opened. Out of the opened hatch came something like a long, very thin tube. It went into the Rhine. Nothing happened for ten minutes. Then the hose was drawn in again and the hatch closed.

The flying saucer shot up vertically with enormous speed. It revolved, speed towards Germany and vanished (mysteries 8, Page. 56).

Similar to the Liverpool report of a bell shaped object in the last post here's another one from the Welsh border.

Quote:Cinderford, United Kingdom - February 2nd, 2009.

I had returned home from work and gone to bed at 1:30am. At 1:45 I was just dozing off when I woke suddenly because there was an extremely bright orange light shining through my window. The light was so bright that it illuminated part of the room even through thick curtains. The light was pulsing and my first thought was that the house was on fire.

I got up and opened the curtains and could barely see anything because the light shining in was so intense. After a few seconds my eyes adjusted to the light and I could see that it was coming from what I can only describe as a small bell shaped UFO at the bottom of my garden which is about 60ft away from the window. The light appeared to be pulsing quite slowly but it is possible that this effect was due to the intensity of the light.
The UFO was hovering above the small stream at the end of my garden and bizarre though it sounds water was being drawn up into the craft. I was unable to determine if there was an opening because of the angle but it appeared to simply be flowing directly up into the craft in a column about 3ft wide.

I would estimate the craft to be about the same size as a VW beetle car. It was so bright it was difficult to look directly at it but it did not appear to have any hatches, windows, doors and no other features or markings.

The craft was around 10 to 15 feet above the stream and was bobbing up and down slightly. This continued for what I'd guess to be about 30 seconds before the water stopped flowing and the craft began to move away. Its movements weren't very graceful, it almost seemed to stagger to the right and left as it cleared the wooded area by the stream.

Its movements near the ground were quite clumsy and it seemed to be making adjustments to its path in a rather robotic way to clear the trees, sort of 2ft this way, 3 ft that way and then back in the direction it came. Like a robot trying to work out a path rather than an intelligent pilot moving a craft. It then rose sharply and shot off to the west at amazing speed.

Curiously for three days afterwards no birds came into the garden which is really strange as my garden is normally full of birds feeding on the bird table. The crows nests which are in the trees around the stream also appear to have been abandoned completely.

Also a report submitted to MUFON from Lake Eufaulla, Checotah, Oklahoma, 2012.

[Image: us-oklahoma-checotah-1471-20200623080736...x240-1.png]

Quote:I was camping and fishing at Lake Eufaulla, when I saw lights in the sky. I watched them for a few minutes as they came closer to the waters surface completely silently.

It hovered over the water and all lights went off. I could still see it clearly in the moonlight; it was triangular/teardrop in shape.

It was huge; at least 90 ft. wide maybe 20 ft. tall. Something cylindrical extended from beneath and touched the surface of the water. It stayed that way for about 5 minutes, then it went back in and the object very quickly went back up so fast the water splashed and made waves.

Once it was up about 300 ft. the lights came back on and it sped off north and up.

Not ten minutes later there was a large black chopper with only one small tail light which circled the area, then hovered in the same area for no more that 15 seconds, spotlighting the water.

And a report submitted to NUFORC from Delta, Pennsylvania, January, 1978.

Quote:The four of us were playing out near the pond when we noticed a light coming toward us from the distance. Slowly it approached over the pond and dropped a long cylinder into the pond and started sucking up water. I got scared and ran into the house to hide under the couch. My brother runs in and says we have to tell Mom and the other parents. We run to the next house and in panic we explain what is going on right outside. At first they thought we were just kidding. But finally we got them to come outside and by that time it was moving off into the distance.

Paul Sinclair describes some bizarre reports submitted during the Yorkshire 2009 UFO flap including boomerang shaped UFOs hovering over the ocean whilst the surface below was 'bubbling and crashing'.

Daily Express Article:

Quote:The case of the Wilsthorpe Incident is being investigated after a number of witnesses to the bizarre events along a 25-mile stretch of the East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire coast were discovered.

Witnesses reported seeing strange lights, and odd-shaped craft in an area from Brandesburton in East Yorkshire to Scarborough, North Yorkshire, between May and September 2009.

In some cases UFOs were seen entering the sea, and cars ground to a halt as one appeared, it is claimed.

Two Chinook helicopters full of RAF personnel landed at the beach by the remote hamlet of Wilsthorpe, East Yorkshire, on Tuesday, September 15 2009, at the height of the sightings, paranormal researcher Paul Sinclair has revealed.

It was the day after a bizarre late-night sighting of between 30 and 40 UFOs in the same area by an elderly couple whose home overlooked the beach, he said.

The multiple UFOs sighting followed a spate of other strange UFO sightings along the area of coastline, Mr Sinclair told the Outer Limits Magazine 70 Years of the Modern UFO Era Conference in Hull.

The military action and UFOs were witnessed by the couple, two bait diggers, and a boat worker, a seven-year investigation by Mr Sinclair has discovered.

local newspaper report written more than a week later on September 24 said up to 50 people had seen the military arrival.

The case began in 2009 as Mr Sinclair recorded several UFO sightings in the area on his former website ILF-UFO...

The couple lived in one of 30 flats that overlook the sea at Wilsthorpe.

Mr Sinclair told the conference that the woman described seeing on September 14 2009 15-feet long and eight-feet wide "spaceships over the sea".

He said: "She said there was a huge circle of boomerang-shaped craft.

"She said there were loads - 30 to 40 and the sea below was bubbling, banging and crashing."

The woman said that after about half an hour, the "craft" flew off.

The next day the couple said they saw the military swarming all over the beach.

Mr Sinclair also spoke with a man who runs a bait shop at Bridlington Harbour, who told him his bait diggers had seen "triangle" craft enter the sea in 2009 over the same period.

He said two of his bait diggers had been on Wilsthorpe Beach the day the couple saw the military operation.

They told of seeing "triangles entering the sea" and later "being surrounded by soldiers."

Someone should notify the IRS that a group is taking natural resources without paying taxes, this will all be solved within a week.

Salt water and fresh water is not the same. Electrolysis with fresh water produces hydrogen and oxygen, electrolysis with salt water produces hydrogen and chlorine.

Let's assume hydrogen is what they are after, the oxygen and chlorine would be dumped.  Chlorine we can trace possibly, it's something that would leave a marker I think.

Another strange one from the Amazon taken from Bob Pratt's (great) book 'UFO Danger Zone' - apparently the 'beam' from the object left behind a trail of luminescence on the surface of the water.

Quote:One Saturday night in January, 1980, a Brazilian electronics businessman and nine other people saw a disc-shaped object shine a light down on the water near the eastern shore of the Tapajos river in the Amazon. The man, his family and some relatives, were camping at a beach thirty miles south of Santarem, and appeared around eleven o'clock.

Several teenagers were still awake, lying in hammocks and talking, when they saw the UFO come toward them from across the river. It stopped about thirty yards from the beach and shined a light down on the water twenty yards below. The kids awakened the others. The UFO hovered briefly and then began moving north, or to the campers right, parallel to the shore. It traveled more than half a mile, with the spotlight still shining straight down, before it disappeared.

The curious thing about all this was that as the beam of light moved along the river, it left behind a trail of luminescence on the surface for several hundred yards. The trail gradually faded out, south to north, at about the same speed as the light itself had moved.

MUFON Director John Schuessler describes a report where an '30 foot long glowing silver-white cigar-shaped object' settled on the surface of a lake 'causing steam to rise around it'.

Quote:'OBLONG UFO LANDS ON WATER' By John  F. Schuessler

Carl E. Moore, 14-years-old, was fishing with friends near Newberry, South Carolina, when he saw a large cigar-shaped UFO land on the water The sighting took place around 10:30 p.m. on July 15, 1981. The weather was excellent, with a clear sky and a temperature of 75 degrees.

Carl and his friends had been fishing that day, but with very little luck. They had only a few fish to show for their efforts and were on their cots for a rest. Carl decided to go down to the boat ramp and check his trout lines; so he was alone when he observed the UFO.

The UFO was a 30-foot-long glowing silver-white cigar-shaped thing. It was flying very slowly over the water, perhaps 20-25 m.p.h. He said it slowly settled on the surface of the water causing steam to rise around it. After about 3 minutes it rose slightly and hovered about one foot above the surface. Suddenly, it shot skyward, rising vertically until it was out of sight Carl described the speed as "faaast!," claiming the UFO went from the hovering position to more than 250 m.p.h. in an instant .

The UFO was larger than a standard-sized automobile, without windows or doors. It was covered with small whitish-blue lights. These fights kept flickering back and forth as long as the object was in sight. When the UFO landed on the surface of the water it was less than 50 feet from Carl.

Carl described his feelings during the sighting as "quite disturbed," but he was able to "keep his cool" and observe the whole event. Because his friends were asleep on their cots he felt that no one would believe his experience but when he heard about Project VISIT in Friendswood, Texas, he felt compelled to make a report.
