No not really, as already stated am a fan of Sagan in other fields and do reckon every school kid should read this book (and watch this vid) but that's not what this thread is about.

Looks very much to me (and many other folks) that he was co-opted by intelligence agencies to blatantly deceive the public about official studies and data on unidentified flying objects and it's well known that astronomers were specifically targeted and recruited as 'debunkers' to 'spread the gospel'.

Yes, with absolutely no concrete evidence that aliens in their crafts are visiting us, to this day. That was Sagan's point and mine as well. That does not mean their visitations can't be explained or realized in the future as something we just don't understand yet.
