U.S. tourist lands on forbidden island to give Diet Coke to remote tribe
#1
Look out! Here come the Indian Police!

They actually arrested a man for reaching out to a remote tribe of people living on a secluded protected island near India.

The guy thought it would be nice to offer some things they might have liked.

Cola drinks and coconuts!  Lol

Quote:Indian police said on Thursday they had arrested a U.S. tourist who sneaked onto a highly restricted island carrying a coconut and a can of Diet Coke to a tribe untouched by the modern world. The incident occurred seven years after another American was killed by the tribe on the same island.
Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, 24, set foot on the restricted territory of North Sentinel — part of India's Andaman Islands — in a bid to meet the Sentinelese people, who are believed to number only around 150.
All outsiders, Indians and foreigners alike, are banned from traveling within three miles of the island to protect the Indigenous people from outside diseases and to preserve their way of life.
"The American citizen was presented before the local court after his arrest and is now on a three-day remand for further interrogation," Andaman and Nicobar Islands police chief HGS Dhaliwal told AFP.

Highly restricted, forbidden…. Gee I wonder what he didn’t understand about that?

It’s not like it implies a little wiggle room…

I agree 727Sky.

But, the last one that was killed was going to bring Jesus to the people! How dare they!

Morons being morons. At least this one wasn’t killed.

Was just going to post this.

You also failed to mention that he might have brought diseases that they don't have (they may not have the common cold, which still kills thousands of people in modern times: https://www.bbc.com/news/health-61509794)

And he clearly KNEW he was breaking international law, but the desire for money and fame and his belief that those two factors excuse any behavior overruled the idea that he needs to follow rules for any country anywhere in the world.

Throw the book at him, I sez.

He should go bring soda to the uncontacted tribes of The Amazon next. Brazilian Authorities will arrest the crap out of you if you try to contact them, though.

I think it's that type of thing.

Who wouldn't want to bring a tasty cold soda to them?

You can totally fly drones over them:

They would kill you because the batteries in the God Box ran out.

How about dropping a jumbled up Rubiks cube and a copy of "Playboy"?  Lol

Beware of the Coke bottle. It is very useful but very, very dangerous.

Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

Classic!

But I suppose we should be grateful he didn't make direct contact.

Were I in a ruder mood I would point out that this is what it's like
to be hopelessly lacking perspective outside one's own ambitions...

I wonder if he was "sponsored" by Coca Cola?
