Were other people outside the event area, on that private property where the shooter was?
They probably saw him leave the group in the direction of the building, and then saw him get up on the building. If you watch the video, you will see it's only about 50-60 FEET from the building, so not far away at all. The video was taken by some other person. The people screaming sound like they are either beside the camera or behind it. The person taking the video does not seem to be part of the people screaming. An individual would be easily recognizable at this distance.
Edit - Someone over on ATS posted a picture of the security perimeter around the event. In the aerial picture there was a pie shaped piece cut out of the circular secured perimeter, and this is where the building was that the shooter was on top of. I don't have an explanation for this pie shaped cut out, but the shooter must have somehow known this. Additionally, I've seen reports which state the building where the shooter was had been a "Rally point" for either the local LEO's, or the SS, or both. I've not seen much more information than this, so I don't really know what this means; it's just notable. I understand what a 'rally point' means in general terms, but I don't understand what it meant in the context of that specific day, nor how it was intended to be used and/or for what purpose.
