I could hit a 12 by 12 steel plate at 327 yards (5.56) with a shot group of around 5".. and at one time my equipment and eyeballs were top notch. Pig hunting will make
one accurate if there is any talent and decent equipment .
I was at the gun range a couple of times a week blowing though boxes of ammo and was killing pigs a few times a month with different calibers so I was at the top of my game. Again a head shot from 200+ is not an easy shot for most people.
twenty five to forty years ago I used to be able to get my shots in about a twelve inch pattern on a target at three hundred yards using my dads thirty thirty winchester with open sites. That would after I practiced about five shots to figure the drop that occurs. I grew up with that gun and always tried to get as good as my dad was before he died. He was a Rifleman in WW11, his job was a sniper in the military.
Now, I can't even see the circles on the target at three hundred yards if I go down to the gun club across the street. That is life. It's crappy what happens to your eyes when you get old...er. Too much screentime I think, the LED monitor is effecting my eyesight a lot.
