If both parties are to blame and both parties just voted in lockstep (427-1) to release the files then logic says they will cover up any dirt in those files. Right?

Bondi reopened the investigation siting “new information” has come to light. The bill passed, but she still gets to decide what gets released. It is theater, you’re right on that, but I think we disagree as to why.

Mike Johnson said this was a national security issue and cited we needed to be careful what comes out to protect intelligence.

The government (not just this admin) has been flip flopping on this for years.

But we’re suddenly supposed to trust the government, who has never gone after elites tied to the Panama papers, elected officials insider trading, both parties dragging by us into Iraq, or a bunch of corrupt deals with oligarchs by politicians.

Nothing to see here. The government has always been just as hard on elites as plebs. They know what’s best for us and we should just trust them at their word. We’d be idiots to think otherwise.

Even though there’s plenty of evidence for us to at the very least to be skeptical. But suddenly there is a higher degree for justification now on this singular issue. Many partisans have gone around for years spouting their theories as a matter of fact, but now we have to be hyper rigid about skepticism because we should trust the government.

No gaslighting needed, we were all there. This isn’t new, this wasn’t always a left wing hoax. This was something a lot of people could agree on, which is rare for partisan politics. The elites in politics have all tried to sweep this under the rug, and a lot of the populace has seen that for what it is.

That is not true. The only reason I put that out there is because Epstein's 20 something year old recruiter back then stated that she saw Trump witnessing one of the orgies and that he got a hand job or a BJ from a 13 year old and he complained about it. Otherwise, of course, there would be no there there for me and I'd have nothing to go on to chime in. At any rate, the truth will come out some how.

I said the political process of releasing it is theater (because they can still redact whatever they want).

And I’d rather try to hold these groups accountable than not try. I don’t think people can look out for the nations best interests when they’re morally bankrupt enough to engage in or protect people who engaged in the most morally bankrupt behavior:

We have both parties letting corporations consolidate without lowering prices, then when they sh it the bed the taxpayer bails them out. This has happened under both sides as well. Each party goes into the White House and sells influence to their donors while the populace continues to struggle more just for a middle class life.

It’s plain as day, and if you ask 90% of people without bringing up politics, they’d all agree it’s all corrupt and benefits the ruling class. Only when you bring up republicans or democrats will the partisans change their tone to defend some of it.

I never said there were people who did not want them released. I simply stated that there will always be those that were only in it for one reason. They hoping to get the gotcha moment on Trump, and when he released files they would always cry that they were edited/fake/not all of them/ etc.
